Outdoor amenities abound, with a protected lagoon and bay, 5 paddleboards, a rowboat, pickleball court, as well as fire pits and charcoal grills at the beach and the lagoon too.

Historic Discovery Bay Beach Cabin Stunning Views

Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. Explore the unbelievable beauty of the Olympic National Park just a few miles away featuring hiking to rainforests, glaciers, and mountain lakes.

Ranger's Hideout at Whitman Lake, Mount Rainier

Perched over Whitman Lake, escape with a cold beverage on your large deck that makes you feel "within the trees." Surrounded by old growth cedars, watch as the resident bald eagles take turns diving into the lake for their lunchtime snack. Walk down the railroad tie stairs and through our "naturally" landscaped yard to find your private dock with a kayak that is free for guests. Whitman Lake is just ~45 min south of Tacoma and ~45 min north of MRNP... a perfect home base for your adventures.

McDonald Cove Cabin

Rustic cozy cabin. Open concept for easy entertaining with glorious views of the water. Main floor bedroom with Queen bed plus open loft with Queen bed. The cabin has one bathroom opposite the downstairs bedroom. Great outdoor living with two decks; front deck facing the waterfront. Use stairs to access the beach and boat house which houses two single kayaks, one double kayak, life jackets, and beach chairs for guest use. One exterior security camera, which monitors the driveway is present.

Located just 60 miles north of Olympia on the on the scenic Hood Canal, Weather-N-Heights resort was lovingly built and enjoyed by my parents for many years. Recently updated to it's original splendor, it sits right on the shore with spectacular views looking south down the canal. This property has it all. Whether it is swimming, fishing or watching the local wildlife right from the deck or hiking, waterfalls and exploring everything the Olympic Peninsula has to offer within a short drive.

Once tucked back into the woods, this newly improved 1920s cabin now enjoys a front-row seat to the grandeur of the Hood Canal thanks to a tidal creek that has washed away the sandy soil that once supported the departed trees. Under 10 miles north of Hama Hama, where you can pick up fresh local seafood and enjoy great cuisine. Close by to Lena Lake, Murhut Falls, Olympic National Park, Rocky Brook Falls, and many other attractions on the Hood Canal. We have three kayaks available (two single, one double) for guest use.
