The Tower, Thornton Castle

Traditional & relaxed accommodation in the 16th century Scottish tower of our family home. Accessed by a spiral staircase your space comprises 2 bedrooms for 4 people over two floors in a private wing of the castle with bathroom and small sitting room. Full breakfast included. Set in the foothills of the Cairngorm National Park, this is an ideal stop off between Inverness and Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle, Dunnottar Castle, Glamis Castle and St Andrews are nearby. My unusual holiday home is part of the unique Bridge House built over the River Ardle in k1881. It has recently been renovated to a warm and cosy standard! Snowgate Cabin Glenmore

The closest house to the Cairngorm's. Based in the very heart of the Cairngorms National Park Snow Gate Cabin is the last dwelling sitting right at the foot of the Cairngorms themselves. The cabin sleeps two people comfortably, including an open plan living/sleeping area housing a small kitchenette with an electric hob and a shower /wc room. A log burner gives the room a super cosy feel. The cabin shares a driveway with the owners whose property is next door to the cabin.

Set at the end of a short track on the banks of the River Spey, it’s a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Watch ospreys, explore miles of forest tracks and cycle routes, enjoy snow sports in the Cairngorms, or paddle Loch Insh and the Spey. Calm and relaxing, with adventure right outside the door.

Drumguish Cottage

Spring has arrived as have the long nights. Sunset tonight 7th April is 20.15 and in mid June it will be 22.30 so you can still play golf long into the evening. The long daylight hours in June make the cottage the prefect place for exploring this wonderful region, whether on foot, bike or car. However now there is still good skiing and snowboarding to be had on Cairngorm Mountain.
