The Shepherd's Rest is a Shepherds Hut and glamping experience. The hut is situated on a 300 acre bull beef farm and approx a 10 minute drive to central Oamaru. Unwind in the outdoor bathtub (gas heated). The 3 alpaca & pet sheep are your friendly neighbours. 4pm Farm Tour for additional fee. The country location is the perfect place to relax, star gaze, enjoy the scenery, birdsong & farm sounds. It’s a great base to explore Oamaru & the Waitaki area.

But have restaurants and grocery shops near by. Off street parking also. Just on the town boundary with a rural feel.

Built in 1882, the cottage has undergone a full restoration of the interior and now offers luxury accommodation. We are close to local shop, village pub, cafe, park (inc children play area), museum, information centre, tennis courts, Naseby Forest Recreation Area, swimming dam. Don't forget Naseby as a fantastic dark skies location!!

Brand new decking at the front and back of this home will allow you to sit back relax and smell the country air. The section has plenty of room for outdoor living while keeping an eye on the kids. Short stroll to the famous Gilchrist Store, Central Otago Rail Trail and local tavern.
