Qué harás

We'll meet at a lightly traveled trailhead in North Phoenix and take a few minutes to get acquainted.
Next, we'll begin our hike on a wide, gently sloped trail with spectacular views of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve.
Along the way, I'll share tips I've learned to help overcome fears, reduce injuries and avoid getting lost. Plus, I'll teach you some cool stuff about the desert landscape.
After 30 minutes, we'll begin making our way back to the starting point.

I've been hiking for many years and have learned a lot of tips to help beginning hikers quickly break through any anxiety or concerns they may have about hiking, especially in the desert.

The trails we'll be exploring on this beginner level hike are practically in my back yard, and I hike them multiple times a week.

We'll take our hike on the gentle trail network of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve on the "back side" of the inspiring Piestewa Peak - which we'll have a great view of.

My mom and I visited Phoenix for a wedding and decided to take a hike the morning before the event. My mom is a very novice hiker, but we wanted to see the beauty of the area and do something outdoors together. It was a fantastic experience and Paul was a great guide! I loved it.

Our hike was exactly what we were looking for - pretty terrain, knowledgeable host, amazing sunset and some new-to-us wildlife sightings. With our limited time in Phoenix, we were still able to experience the desert and learn a lot about the area and local flora & fauna from a friendly “local” who was a great conversationalist!

This is a nice walking tour, as tour guide Paul takes it easy & goes at a comfortable pace. However, more narrative & facts about the mountain & the locale would've made the tour more dynamic & interesting.

Paul was great. He remembered the names of all 5 of the folks in our group and made us feel special. He answered all of my 9 year old's many questions and was very patient with him (and an older boy who had a disability and was largely non-verbal). Paul was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of unique tidbits. We got to see a pack of coyotes, which was very cool. Paul also waited patiently for me and I was 30 minutes late (uber initialy took me to the wrong location!). I would definitely do this hike agan with Paul. I wished it had been longer!

Paul was very friendly as we went on this hike. Since there were only three guests, we had requested a more moderate hike, and Paul was sure to ask us about our health and if it was OK. He would not have pushed for the more moderate hike if someone in the group felt uneasy. Paul knew a lot about the local wildlife and I learned a lot about the cacti and other trails on the mountain. He answered all my questions and we genuinely got to know one another and had a lovely time chatting about Arizona and hiking. I would highly recommend this experience!
