We will meet at Columbus Park in Chinatown, NYC. I will take you to a local dim sum restaurant where English is not spoken. We will wait anywhere from 0 to 30 minutes for a table depending on the day we go.

Once seated, I will guide you through the tea and food offerings, and answer any questions you may have. I can also tell you about the ingredients, and communicate with the restaurant staff to get your questions answered.

I've sought out the most genuine Chinese cuisines in NYC, throughout my life as a New Yorker. With a love for embracing different cultures and sharing authentic Chinese foods in NYC, I would like to take travelers on a unique experience eating a popular type of Chinese cuisine, and that's dim sum. With expertise in everything to do with dim sum, I have given countless recommendations to friends and family on what to eat. During the experience, I will guide travelers to a local dim sum restaurant, not highly publicized on social platforms, but loved by locals. The entire process of getting a table, ordering, and asking staff questions would likely be intimidating if you don't know know Chinese (mainly Cantonese). I'm here to break the language barrier and share everything I know about dim sum, Chinatown, and NYC with you!

This experience was awesome! We had a group of 5. We met Rita at an easily located spot in Chinatown on a Monday, where she walked us to the restaurant. We waited about an hour for a table, which Rita let us know what not typical (normally it’s 0-30 minutes). The restaurant was crowded with local folks, which is always a good sign! Turns out the food was all phenomenal and affordable. Rita explained the different dishes to us as carts rolled by and had a wealth of suggestions. We left totally stuffed! It would’ve been impossible to navigate the situation without Rita who was super familiar with the system of being seated, ordering, and paying. She had great insight and shared personal anecdotes concerning dim sum and Chinatown. After eating, Rita took us to a local Chinese grocery store where we perused and shopped for snacks. Lastly she took us to the a local Chinese bakery which specialized in a dessert we had all enjoyed earlier at the dim sum restaurant- here we were able to stock up on treats! 10/10 recommend- the host was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, and the neighborhood setting was exciting and interesting. You’re going to walk away feeling like you did something rewarding and unique.

Very good time, wonderful dim sum place that we wouldn't have been able to find or navigate through without Rita. She suggested good dishes and we were able to make our own choices too. Afterwards she brought us though Chinatown and into a great grocery store and saw some really new things.

I was the only one guest so it seems a kind of personal meeting . She was active and good to talk but I thought dimsum fare was included for my booking fare but it wasn’t. Of course i could pay for the host tho when i was willing to, but when she told me she didn’t bring any cash I thought something is wrong. And she asked me to pack the food left , i said no and she brought it to home. She didn’t explain any history of china town and dimsum , just ordered the dimsum in chinese and let me show two or three chinese grocery shops ..that’s it. I felt i paid to talk with someone during lunch time, but of course it is good for her coz if she order what she likes in her mother tongue, she can have free meal without any professional working and her money. Im quiet familiar with world china town and dimsum so it was not very helpful for me. All i learned is taro dimsum is existing .moreover, it was not official business meeting tho, she seems too comfy.. she looked she just woke up and come out , i was quiet surprised . I wanted more historical and cultural stuff.. but it was good to talk . If u wanna do sth more sth cultural and chinese cultural stuff, better book sth more professional one from travel agency . And have dimsum by yourself in dimtao not in chinatown and make a frd in hostel for sharing lunch.. whatever i had a great time tho, I couldn’t satisfy much :(

Rita was a terrific host! She gave clear direction on where to meet and how to find her. She was friendly and welcoming, and overall the experience was very authentic. Dim sum in a crowded lively Chinatown spot. Because Rita can speak Cantonese, she navigated the situation well. Getting our name on the wait list and getting us seated. Then the yummy part came in deciding on what dishes to try. Rita made some solid recommendations. Some familiar and some new. I left stuffed and happy! After leaving the restaurant, we walked to a nearby Asian grocery store to look around. I would highly recommend this experience!

Our Dim Sum experience was really enjoyed by our group. It was a unique experience and the food was tasty - especially the pork buns and the spare ribs. Definitely a great way to enjoy a meal in NYC.

Do you want an original chinese food experience in NY? So, let Rita guide you through this experience. Rita is so experienced, very communicative and easy-going. She also guided me through Chinatown presenting traditional hidden places. Believe or not we ended up our tour in 9/11 Museum. Strongly recommended.
