This is 3 hours 30min hiking & Lunch included Tour.
You can fully enjoy whole holly mountain of Fushimi by an alternative way
Oct and Nov are best season!! You can expect to enjoy Beatiful Foliage.

Fushimi has been Trip Adviser NO1 spot in these 5 years for its magnificent view of Thousands of Red Gates.

1 : Sightseeing of the main shrine and Thousands of Red Gates with an explanation of its history and cultural background.

2 : Easy walking through peaceful bamboo and cedar tree forest path, visiting authentic holy spots (worship stones & waterfall ) and gate factory.

3 : Climbing forest route to the Summit shrine (20 min). The summit is 233m. Then I’ll show you around the summit shrine. If you want, you can pray at the shrine.

4 : Photo-Shooting Part. On the way down, I’ll show you lots of photogenic spots, where usually with few people, so you can take a much nicer photo than other visitors. Visit historical mountain hat for Japanese tea & boiled egg break.
You can also enjoy the breath-taking panorama view of Kyoto city from the viewpoint.

5 : Lunch in the best Soba restaurant in Fushimi. Yummy Japanese noodle Soba and Inari sushi wrap up the tour.

After lunch, you can enjoy walking exciting food stand street of Fushimi town where I showed you on the way.

This is the original Fushimi hidden route tour by Japanese Local.
Main Guide Kenji used work as a porter of Mt Fushimi, who carry staffs such as Sake, shrine gate to the summit shrine. My relationship with Fushimi is more than 10 years.

We realized many tourists just visited only main area (very busy and the surface of its attraction ) and returned, We’ve started this tour since 2017.

More than scenic Thousands of Red Torii Gates, We’ll show you authentic holly spots, summit shrine, gate factory by an alternative peaceful bamboo forest path.
Local people in the mountain will also welcome you.
We'd like to take you to the authentic part of Fushimi as holly mountain, which you would 't find otherwise.

Kenji & Ko, Taka are happy to guide you.
We are all Mt Fuji Climbing Guide of more than 6 years experience, living or lived in Kyoto.

Donde estarás

Fushimi Grand Shrine is headquarter of mora than 30000 of all Inari shrines in Japan, which located in whole Inari mountain. Inari mountain itself is sacred mountain including several holly spots.

I’ll show you very cultural and sacred part of Fushimi by alternative route. You need to hike, though you’ll see and feel authentic aspect of Fushimi which majority of tourist miss.

Kenji is a super nice guide and the best part was the soba house he took us to. I did enjoy the experience but would not classify this as a hike. This was more of a leisure stroll through the sacred mountain which required some stair climbing but definitely not a hike.

Walking with Kenji to the top of Mt Inari was a great experience. The sacred mountain is so much more than the famous gates and Kenji was able to share both the mystery and importance of Mt Inari in the Shinto religion. We learned about shrines to the many different gods and some of us even prayed to a few. We stopped and had tea with one of the "keepers" of a holy shrine area and met one of the masters who make the famous gates on Mt Inari. Kenji pointed out his favorite views which were all great picture taking spots. I did the hike with my husband and his 25-year-old son and all of us were very glad we did it. I highly recommend this hike with Kenji. We learned that he also does a food tour in Osaka which we will look for when we have an opportunity to go there!

Excellent tour of Fushimi Inari with Kenji. Walked through thousands of red gates, bamboo forest, and hiked to the summit of the holy mountain. Very scenic, well explained, insightful tour. Must experience for yourself.

Overall an enjoyable experience seeing Fushimi-Inari by an alternate route up the Mountain taking you through various shrines. It was a hard hike though. I should have expected that but good to be informed and I’m good shape.

This was my 2nd time joining a tour conducted by Kenji, and I still had a great time! Kenji was friendly and attentive; he was very patient and catered to the group’s needs accordingly.

Kenji was a great guy but the tour group had way too many people in it for him to connect with everyone. Plus it was super busy at the shrine bc new year so it was kind of unbearable. Points to Kenji for knowing how we could bypass the long long line - that alone is worth the tour (but maybe better during a slower time of year). Would def book with him again.
