Originally a tavern built 1790 in the Williamsburg style, the Ordinary sits 6/10 mile off the main road--no other house in sight. 22 miles from Shenandoah National Park, convenient to local vineyards, the Ordinary is set on 650 acres in conservation easement; solar energy; generator in event of power outage; outdoor fire pit; 2 great fireplaces; wood provided by owner. The house is over 200 years old with narrow, steep steps and may not be suitable for children and people with mobility issues.

The rural charm of St. Mary’s County is among Maryland’s best kept secrets -- 90 minutes but a world away from Washington DC (with no Bay Bridge traffic!). We are near historic Leonardtown, boasting one of Maryland’s few remaining town squares (we affectionately call it “Mayberry”). And be sure to visit our sister property, White Point Cottage!

The Hide-A-Way

Follow a long gravel driveway before you can view this comfortable house in the country. This house is 12 easy miles from the Town of Farmville and all it has to offer. Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College is near by. Visit High Bridge State Park for hiking and Greenfront is a shopping destination. Lots of dining options will appeal to every taste and plenty of other activities to enjoy in this area. There is no phone-internet or satellite at The Hide-A-Way, Cell phones do work.

Terrell House, ca 1850

This ca 1840 house, listed on the National Register of Historic Place as part of the Scottsville Historic District, has been completely renovated. It is located in historic Downtown Scottsville. Within walking distance are four restaurants and a brewery. A grocery store and other restaurants also a short drive away. A nature area with trails is also nearby. It has a kitchen, dining and living area. WiFi. If this house is already reserved, I have other properties that could be available.

The Inn at Hampden-Sydney

A peaceful, quiet, and cozy home on 36 acres of beautiful land that rests just 5 minutes from Hampden-Sydney College and 10 minutes from Longwood University. We want your stay to be comfortable and relaxing, which is why each bed is comfortable and topped with luxurious linens. The house is equipped with 3 big screen tv's. You can also watch the deer from the enclosed front porch or open back deck. Enjoying sitting around the firepit or walking along one of the many paths on the property.

Hidden Haven

Hidden Haven is just that! A 600 square foot romantic, private, peaceful, little haven. Hidden in the woods just 6 miles outside of the Town of Orange. Open the garage door in the living area and step out on the 300 square foot screened in porch where you can relax at the firepit under the covered roof. On the porch at Hidden Haven, we like to say, "time wasted is time well spent". The romantic vibe and modern amenities make it a prefect place for a couple's getaway.

Peace Point - Waterfront, Secluded, Home w/hot tub

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Very quiet, and secluded waterfront getaway is the perfect spot to relax with nature. House is located approximately 150 feet from the creeks edge providing amazing views. Located on a very quiet and unpopulated creek (no other houses) off the Chesapeake Bay, our home offers a scenic deck with hot tub, waterfront fire pit with seating for up to six people, private floating dock with kayaks to explore the scenic creek.

The Woodland House| WV Allegheny Mtn Get Away

The Woodland House is our 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath home located in the Mon Forest town of Franklin, WV. Enjoy the comforts and luxuries of home while enjoying the fresh air and forests of a trip to the mountains. You'll also have easy access to our small-town amenities while being a short drive from some of West Virginia's favorite destinations like Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks. You can also stay in and enjoy the mountain view without ever leaving the back porch.

Otterview Mountain House

Otterview has one of the most incredible views in the state, huge deck, and pond. The house is open format with 3 bedrooms, a top of the line kitchen, cozy living room, and extraordinary great room. Look out at the Peaks of Otter, enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets. You are welcome to grill out on the Blackstone, enjoy the firepit, and relax on the dock. There is two miles of trails on the 37 acre property with their own trail signs and map.

My late wife, Gail, & I came out of retirement to renovate this unique home with a completely new kitchen, vinyl plank flooring, new deck & new well in the Fall of 2019. This 3 bedroom lakehouse is very secluded within about an hour drive from Lynchburg, Roanoke or Danville. The dock and boat ramp are especially convenient. Keep an eye out for eagles, osprey, deer, bear, turkeys, otters, geese & heron.
