Our 1850 log home features 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a barn board kitchen, spacious living room overlooking Blueberry Creek, and warm dining room with rustic farm table. Our second living room with library, games and instruments invite you to play and relax. Please note no adults only bookings.

Off Grid Converted Sugar Shack

This little rustic OFF GRID converted sugar shack is perfect for a quiet getaway. There are 2 solar panels that feed the lighting and water pump; limited, non-drinking water for the 2 sinks (summer only); and compostable toilet. There is no shower, no oven and no fridge. A cooler, an urn of drinking water and firewood are provided. The shack is on our 35 acre property, with our home 500ft down the lane. You will have access to our property to walk through the maple forest and wildflower meadow.

This property was deeded to the Motherwell family following the War of 1812, staying in their family name 100 years. The interior of the house is fully renovated with some exterior projects ongoing. 40 minutes west of Kanata, ON in Lanark Highlands, 20 kms west of Almonte. The Gate House is a renovated 150 year old log building with 2 single beds, in floor heating, bathroom with shower & kitchenette with hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, small fridge & microwave, dining & sitting area. We also have the Doll House which has a queen size bed, bathroom & an outdoor hot shower for $95 a night, it is heated & air conditioned. See my other listing. Enjoy the farm!
