A car is recommended due to the semi-rural location.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The Pottery, nestled in the tree line across from our cottage, looks directly out onto the stunning Borthwick castle. This is a lovely area for walkers, hikers or anyone seeking peace and quiet in a tranquil environment or a romantic weekend getaway nestled below a remote historic castle. The hamlet is also only 30min drive (or 20min train) into central Edinburgh- perfect balance of city to green countryside. Please note we cannot accommodate children or pets.

Just 2 miles from the Hillend Snowsports Centre if you’re looking to practise on the dry slopes. After a full day of activities, enjoy the views from the garden or just chill inside in front of the woodburning stove.
