The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

A geodesic dome luxuriously fitted out, is accompanied by a amenities hut, providing a charming kitchen and separate bathroom. The hut has an outdoor bath with view of Mt Taranaki. This 2-bedroom Airbnb has a separate entrance and no access to the main house (situated below the space). There is complete privacy and the space includes a lounge, kitchenette, dining table, bathroom, and queen bed in each room. The space provides a perfect base, situated approximately 1 km from Fitzroy Beach, 3 km from the Town Centre, Pukekura Park and 29 km to Mount Taranaki Visitor Centre.

We offer you a private, warm, small quiet space neatly contained on the ground floor of our family home. Our quiet street sits right above the ocean where you can hear the lapping waves of the Tasman sea from your private courtyard, and have unlimited views out to the horizon. You'll want a camera for the sunsets. The entrance to the room is separate from the entrance to our house, so one has complete privacy. We offer modern bicycles for guest use at the cost of $20 per day, per bike.

The Stay on Egmont

Welcome to The Stay on Egmont. Nestled in the quiet Egmont Village at the base of our Maunga, the road to the mountain is straight out the gate. The cottage is a quiet retreat 10 mins from New Plymouth city. Wake up to the call of Tui and the sound of a stream running outside. Only a 10 minute drive into New Plymouth and beaches, 5 mins to the Egmont National Park. The Village hosts a cafe, petrol station, large mountain bike park, NZ's largest Holden Museum with luge and mini golf.

This self-contained unit is located less than a 10 min walk from New Plymouth town and costal walkway. It boasts a warm cosy space with all the amenities you need. There is plenty of free street parking as well as a single car parking space next to the airbnb (for small cars only).
