Our home is a 3 bedroom Craftsmen that was lovingly renovated last year from top to bottom. Just over the Bay Bridge from SF, our house is conveniently located in the area where Emeryville meets Oakland and both meet Berkeley. The guest rental is the large master bedroom in the back of the house with its own beautiful en-suite bathroom with clever storage, an amazing shower, and a sliding barn door. Our home feels like a healing sanctuary right in the middle of everything.
The master suite has two large side-by-side closets with custom shelves and a hanger rack in each. The window faces the fenced back patio and trees, so this room tends to be quiet. The room has a remote-controlled ceiling fan and lights. The house has central heat, but a portable small space heater is available for your room if needed. As are extra blankets.
We have a dreamy granite-countered kitchen in the of the house, with all new latest appliances, a soundsystem and counter seating. You will enter through the kitchen door, and I hope you will enjoy this inviting area, which opens into a healing den and access to private fenced backyard patio with a pair of Adirondacks under the pine trees.
Towards the front of the house there is a generous living room and dining room, with faux fireplace and pretty built-ins with plenty of books. My daughter and I have the two small bedrooms off the dining room, which share their own bath.
Disponible para huéspedes
Please enjoy the kitchen, whether to prepare your own snacks/meals, enjoy my complimentary tea/coffee, order some incredible bay area takeout, or just enjoy some music and counter/work space. There is a large new Samsung fridge, where you can find a shelf designated for your perishables.
You are also welcome to use the yoga and meditation props in the healing den, if you would like to meditate, study, or practice yoga there, when I am not working with a client there.
Just beyond the healing den you have complete access to back patio and sideyard. You may also mindfully share the dining room and living room up front with us, including the Netflix-loaded large screen television.
Atención a los huéspedes
It really is up to you. I will work to resolve any problems asap in person/via text/phone. I have lived in the Bay Area since 1990, and have many interesting perspectives, and do enjoy a casual cup of coffee/conversation with travelers, but can just as easily leave you completely to yourselves.
If questions arise, please reach out and communicate kindly, rather than assuming we know what you want/need.

Our sweet and entertaining 20 lb therapy dog, Peanut, lives here as well. It would be ideal if you enjoyed having a dog around, but he can also be kept out of your way. (Please see under House Rules for more info on 4-leggeds.)
The house is right next to one BART line, so every 20 min or so the BART train will come by and it is audible from the house. The noise is a loud 15-second whoosh, which has never bothered us. BART doesn't run after midnight. (And we also supply earplugs ;-)
Another small, well-behaved dog might be considered, on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me about this before booking. We're allergic to cats. An pet security deposit and additional cleaning fees may apply. Peanut gets along with most other dogs. If your dog is larger this probably isn't the best fit.
Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer from 8am and by 8pm (roughly).
Please, enjoy the kitchen!!! But I do expect you to clean up after yourself as needed, and put your cup in the sink. Feel free to store any perishables in designated area of fridge. Likewise, there’s an entire drawer in the pantry for your snacks/food supplies.
You are welcome to borrow books/games/yoga mats, etc while you are here, but please do not take things.
If you are a smoker, you may do so mindfully on the back-patio. Please only moderate alcohol consumption inside the house. Check with me personally about 420-friendliness.
I sometimes have scheduled bodywork clients in the healing den. I always schedule them so as to be least disruptive to your stay, usually while you’re away from the house. I appreciate your cooperation in this.
Quiet Hours: 10 pm - 7 am
