Thank you so much for your feedback, as I had requested. (FINALLY)
I’m so relieved, because you almost missed the 14 day deadline to be able to leave a review. I was beginning to think you forgot I asked you to do it for me. So thank you sincerely. I greatly value the opinions of all my guests, so I really appreciate you taking the time to so thoroughly critique our little lake home retreat. By the way, the map of amenities, recommendations and area attractions was right under your nose the whole time. All that stuff is digital now so it’s all online in my listing under “Guest Guide”, but you must’ve just overlooked it. Airbnb requires hosts to maintain an updated guest guide in our online property listing. It’s really cool because all the restaurants, bars and attractions I talk about in my description all have an interactive pin drop on their map location and below the map are photos of each place with links to their websites and a phone link to tap for one-touch calling. Had you brought that to my attention when you didn’t find it, I could have told you right where it was as well as answer any other questions you might have had. So...As I mentioned, prior to your stay, the condo has just recently undergone many beautiful renovations which are depicted in the listing photos. Which means there has been a lot of construction in between guest stays. So that smell you mentioned was just a mixture of fresh paint, fresh caulking, new sheetrock, sawdust from treated wood(which smells even worse), plumbers glue and pesticide. But all that has already subsided so it’s no longer an issue. As for the kitchen updating...YES! It’s almost done and I’m so excited because my favorite part is the grand finale. GRANITE! The whole island and all the kitchen countertop surfaces will be granite, which will be installed as soon as we get a long enough break between guests, since this place stays booked solid. That makes it difficult to schedule construction projects. But at least the entire kitchen is brand spanking new with all new stainless steel appliances, microwave and Keurig coffee maker, all of which are less than a month old, as well as the kitchen island with power outlets, plumbing and a full size dishwasher instead of the half pint dishwashers that came in all these condos. Everything in the kitchen has been completely restocked with brand new dishes, cookware, utensils, cutlery and brand new dish towels and rags. But I noticed you did not utilize the kitchen during your stay so I guess it makes sense that you didn’t notice everything was sparkling shiny and new! Lol. No worries...that just made it easier to clean. :) A month ago, every single inch of the entire condo received fresh paint, in gorgeous updated colors of the current home design trends, which I am very pleased with the results and I have my mother to thank for helping me because we both worked very hard long hours painting the whole condo ourselves, just the two of us, with no help from anyone. We are really proud of how beautiful it turned out and how professional it looks. She’s a perfectionist. We do still have a few small items to upgrade but not much. Most of the “updating” was completed prior to your stay. But honestly it didn’t really look like you even stayed there at all. My mother and I were puzzled by that because it didn’t even look like the sheets had been pulled back to turn down the bed at all. Everything was just perfect almost as if I had left it when I cleaned. Anyway so there was really no sign you were ever there. Well....except for the two bleach spots on our brand new luxury spa bathroom rug. Uh-oh. It looked like beige or pinkish makeup deep down between the rug fibers, but whatever was used to clean the makeup off also bleached the color out of the rug. It kinda would’ve been nice to be notified when this happened so I could have had the opportunity to properly clean and treat it myself, and prevent ruining the rug. But what’s done is done I guess. I was just disappointed because I just bought those last week and they were really pretty and not cheap at all if you get my drift. But hey it’s just a rug we walk all over anyway right? Oh I almost forgot, the reason there’s no carpet in the bedroom is because we’re not going to have carpet anymore...just doesn’t make sense for a lake-house, you know? We are doing polished acid stained concrete floors. It’s going to look stunning! Beautiful colors of navy, silver and light blue, stained into the concrete after acid etching. Then they polish it to a shine and glaze over it with a clear sealant that makes it shiny. We’re tearing the carpet out of the living area too for the same reason. The granite has blue mother of pearl , silver and black running through it . It will be a perfect match. Oh another thing....you should’ve called me if you couldn’t figure out the remotes. The tv remote also operates the new DVD player. The SAMSUNG remote goes with the SAMSUNG streaming media player that lets you access your HBO, Netflix, Hulu, and whatever cable or satellite subscriptions you have at home. That’s why I left my phone number right up on the fridge where you could see it so you could call me for little things like that. The remotes all match and they work too so maybe you accidentally hit a wrong button or something and just messed up the settings. Well Its getting late so I better go start dinner. I just wanted to thank you for all your input. It really helps me a lot because so many people don’t even take the time to leave me a review so I get no growth from their stay if I can’t learn from them you know? I love constructive criticism. Even if it is a little skewed. It’s ok though. Thanks again for your stay & review. May you and your family have a fabulous summer and make wonderful new memories in the sun.
