***For smaller groups of 5 or less, book at our standard pricing for the best deal. For larger groups of 6 & up, we are now offering a flat rate for a week’s rental, which can be 5-7 days, & equates to a discount, putting a cap on the rate. You pay a flat rate of $2250 occupancy charges + the standard cleaning fee/rooms & meals taxes/booking fee normally added on top of the occupancy charges. This is a big discount & savings for any group larger than 6 people. If you would like to book on this basis, let us know, as the platform will quote you the normal rate, & we will need to go in manually & make the change to reduce the charges. Please note, that if you are booking in advance for the winter months, & want to use the flat rate, there will be a $250/wk energy fee added in, so in effect, the winter flat rate will be $2500/wk on the same basis as mentioned above***

***Check-in: 4:00PM or later ***
***Check-out: 10:00AM -or earlier ***
***Please make sure that by the day of occupancy, you have updated the reservation with the accurate number of guests. We do not charge for infants under normal circumstances***

***When winter arrives, it is time for snowshoeing, skiing, & toasting by the fire. Ask us about places to dine & shop for groceries, we'll point you in the right direction. Local is always best!***
***AWD is strongly recommended for winter driving in Vermont, along with winter tires. It is always better to be safe, to feel safe, & not to spend time being frustrated stuck in the snow***

***Summer-time! Outside wood/charcoal fired barbecue. Camp-fire by the pond. Play horse-shoes, lounge & eat out on the deck, listen to the peepers, watch the fire-flies, & star-gaze on a clear night. Hike, & visit a local swimming hole. Have breakfast at a world class patisserie close-by. Take a stroll up a cascading mountain stream ***
***we have a small farm CSA & may be able to provide you with freshly picked organic produce***
***If pets are included in your party, please notify us ahead of time. We are dog friendly, but, we reserve the right to disallow them, under some circumstances. They should be properly chaperoned, kept on a lead, not allowed to roam freely, & not allowed on the furniture. If you know that your dog has a tendency to be aggressive with strangers, please do not bring them, because inevitably, there will be contact with the owners or grounds-keepers. No pets can be left unattended for any length of time, unless they are kenneled. There is a dog crate available, but owners must bring their own blanket/cushion for the dog's comfort***
***The laundry facilities which normally could be shared, at this point in time with Covid health restrictions in place, it is probably inadvisable, but, please check with the owners. Thank you for your understanding.***
***If you plan to visit local swimming holes, please bring your own beach towels. We provide bath towels & hand towels for your convenience, which should not be removed from the premises***

The Crow's Nest on Scrag Mountain is a contemporary post & beam, pegged timber-frame home, custom built in 2005 for contemporary comfort & convenience, as well as rustic & casual country living. We are in an ideal winter location for skiers who are focused on Mad River Glen & Sugarbush in the Waitsfield & Warren area. But, Stowe is also within striking distance. Summer & autumn are great times here as well, peaceful, quiet, & green, logging trails & mountain trails to explore, Blueberry Lake close-by for swimming & canoeing/kayaking. The map has us mid-way between I-89 Exit #5 & the ski area, (@ 9 miles) & 14.4 miles to Sugarbush via the Warren/Roxbury mountain road. Easy in, easy out. Crafted from local wood & stone, it is spacious & cozy, & glows with warmth & has an enchanting country vibe. Located on 5 very private acres, it is peaceful & quiet, & whether you are having an event with family & want action, or just need solitude with surroundings where everything is beautiful & ministers to your spirit, this is the perfect place to meet all of those needs. There are high ceilings & cathedral spaces inside, & covered porches & deck outside. The grounds include a wild meadow, woods, manicured lawn, orchard, & a pond. Your hosts are in the converted barn "caretakers cottage" across from the main house where you will be. They will be on hand to assist you & manage the ship should need arise. Regardless of the season, hiking & walk-a-bouts are wonderful in this area, but, you skiers are looking for a place to crash after a day on the slopes. We are within the greater area which serves as a bedroom community for both Stowe, Bolton Valley, Sugarbush, & Mad River Glen, & while you may need to drive an extra 15 minutes in one direction, & an extra 30 minutes in the other, to get to your ski spot, what you will gain in both comfort & affordability, a fire to roast yourself by, & beautiful Vermont scenery, it will be worth it. The Scrag Mt trail head is close at hand, as is the Tibetan Buddhist Institute with trails. The Warren Schoolhouse market is 9 miles away, Waitsfield 15 miles, Montpelier 15 miles, Burlington 60 miles, Stowe 40 miles, etc. Exit #5 on I-89 is 9 miles away, & we are located mid-way between the highway & Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, etc, just a lick away from the Roxbury/Warren Mt Road which provides access.

The home is clean & inspiring & set up for your comfort, with your basic kitchen needs, 2 bathrooms (one in vestibule shared), 4 bedrooms, & lots of living space. The main heat is the Hearthstone wood stove in the foyer adjoining the dining room, where you can enjoy tending & watching the fire, & roast in the radiant heat (we are on hand close-by to help you manage the operation of the stove/fireplace when needed). There is nothing like coming in from the cold on a winter's day, or an exhilirating day on the mountain, & sitting by the fire with good company, watching the flames, & drinking your favorite thing, & eating good food.

There are 5 bedrooms 2 with Queen size beds, & 2 with Full size beds, 1 with bunk beds, & 2 Full size couch futons in the living-room (6th bedroom). Fold-up mattresses for the floor, are available if additional sleeping arrangements are needed. Depending on how your group is configured & how the bed space is utilized, we have been able to accommodate up to 15 people at a time. Please note, that we would need to communicate regarding this, so that we can prepare accordingly. Please give us advance notice so that we can make all of the necessary arrangements so that everyone will be comfortable. We provide linens & towels for your convenience. We have DSL & wireless internet if you bring your own devices, ie computer, etc, & there is a flat screen TV here for on-line streaming. Water is hot & cold, & is plentiful straight from the mountain to the well to you. There is laundry in the basement if needed upon request.

Whether you are leaf-peeping, hiking, cycling, skiing, snow-shoeing, or on a food safari, we are well located to have access to it all, & to provide you with your own, beautiful, quiet refuge to rest up from the days activities & adventures. Please let us know how we can serve you best, & make your stay what you need it to be.

A dónde irás

Northfield, Vermont, Estados Unidos

The neighborhood is quintessential Vermont, with gravel roads, & land buffers between homes, so it is quiet & private. AWD or 4WD is highly recommended, & essential during the winter season, & early spring (mud-season).
