El espacio
PLEASE NOTE: this home is shared with me and my kitty but you'll have a private large master bedroom, private beautiful full bathroom and private deck, IF YOU NEED A WHOLE HOUSE ALL TO YOURSELVES, PLEASE SEE THIS ALMOST IDENTICAL HOME IN THE SAME CONDO COMPLEX:

This well-decorated 2 bdr. 2 bth. coastal townhome sleeps 6 people. TV's have Netflix & cable.

The home's location is 5-7 minutes walking distance of Public Beach Access 72 of the Gulf of Mexico which is also called the Emerald Coast for its aquarium-like clarity on calmer days and stunning turquoise color (see photos). I personally live here because I love taking long walks on the endless-seeming snow-white beach and photographing its beauty and wildlife as I breathe in the sea spray every day. You'll find herons, egrets, adorable little sandpipers, pelicans and seagulls everywhere, with turtles, dolphins and stingrays coming close to the shore and visible early in the morning. Watch amazing sunsets from the beach or the long Panama City Beach Pier nearby.

This popular location is 5-7 minutes driving distance of the famous Panama City Beach Pier Park (Pier Park South, not North unless you want only stores). This is a huge, spectacular touristic complex with a carnival atmosphere which includes a gigantic ferris wheel and other rides, with many great restaurants, bars with live bands and numerous touristic stores and gift shops. My favorite waterfront restaurant here at Pier Park: Hooked Bar and Grill where you can eat directly facing the ocean.

My favorite waterfront restaurant not on Pier Park but a little further away: Harpoon Harry’s with great ambiance inside and stunning ocean views visible from both inside and outside.

For a great nightlife option, I recommend Runaway Island Open-air Waterfront Grill and Bar, where you can enjoy the nightly sunset celebration followed by dancing to amazing live bands (recommend calling to see when the bands perform in the off-season).

Dat Cajun Place Cafe is another locals' favorite for Cajun eats like po'boys & oysters, plus daily happy hour & nightly live music.

Locals also frequent Bayou on the Beach famous for its shrimp and grits - New Orleans-style eatery & oyster bar serving classic sandwiches & seafood in a down-home setting. Good prices here.

For breakfast brunch or lunch, I recommend Andy's Flour Power Cafe-Bakery known for its French toast & rolled omelets & cheery ambiance and music.

There's just so much to do and explore in this location right in the heart of all the touristic fun, also surrounded by many gorgeous nature trails that will not let you put down your camera (described shortly). I suggest meeting alligators on a swamp tour on an airboat while seeing great views (eg: ‘Wild Willy’s’), seeing the sunset and dolphins at the same time on a boat tour (‘Panama City Beach Dolphin Tours and More’, ‘Sea Screamer’ or ‘Blue Dolphin Tours’). Or renting a boat, jet ski or parasail or kayaks (so many options for such activities with varying prices, I'd always call them to compare after Googling).

Camp Helen State Park is my favorite state park here which is only 11 minutes away. It's built around a dune lake called Lake Powell which you can explore with kayaks (ask me how to rent). One of the trails here goes through beautiful sand dunes ending at a spectacular location where Lake Powell meets the ocean. Other trails are through the lush tropical forest, I recommend getting a map when you enter as you explore.

I also recommend Saint Andrews State Park with again lots of spectacular trails. This state park includes jetties which are good for snorkeling and seeing a great variety of fish. This park also has a discounted shuttle service to the famous Shell Island after March 15, I suggest spending the whole day here to fully enjoy this island's pristine beauty. Shell Island is also a great scuba diving and snorkeling location you can Google and read about if interested.

I also highly recommend visiting Eden Gardens State Park which includes a historic old mansion you can tour, surrounded by gorgeous well kept flower gardens I love. When I last visited this place camellias were in bloom everywhere. Near the house are again some of the loveliest forest trails I’ve ever seen circling around Tucker Bayou which comes as close to paradise as can be. I again recommend first getting a map as you enter to explore.

In addition to enjoying and walking on the beach right in front of our home, you can enjoy or walk on the wider beach nearby in one of the most upscale and posh seaside neighborhoods in the world. This neighborhood called 30A is a very wealthy luxury community comprised of 6 small towns one of which is called Rosemary Beach only about 10 minutes away from here. You can Google Rosemary Beach Town Hall where you can see numerous coastal villas worth millions of dollars, shop the great stores and dine in the terrific restaurants here to feel like a multi-millionaire!

To further explore the luxury community of 30A full of posh coastal homes and lovely, wider beaches, I recommend putting in your GPS Seaside Town Square, where you'll find the best 30A stores and restaurants, some of which are surprisingly affordable. You can go to both Rosemary Beach and Seaside in one day and also visit Deer Lake Park nearby which is described below. While at the town of Seaside, don't forget to visit Fusion Glass Gallery which is one of the best glass art galleries in the world - you won’t believe the amazing glass sculptures you'll see! Seaside is known for other famous art galleries that you can Google and explore away if interested.

Deer Lake State Park, which is 18 min. away on 30A , has a long boardwalk with terrific views of huge, white sand dunes everywhere (6350 East County Highway 30A WaterSound FL, 32461). Hikers can also enjoy the 1-mile Interpretive Forest Loop trail (orange trail) or the 1/2 mile Lake trail (blue trail) with a scenic overlook of Deer Lake, located on the north side of Scenic Highway 30A across from the park entrance. A hot spot for birders around the shore of the lake. This boardwalk will take you to the beach where you can again enjoy seeing million-dollar coastal homes.

For the lovelies nature trail on 30A with views to last a lifetime, I recommend putting in your GPS “Watercolor Boat House” and walking the trails around Western Lake that start by this store (look for the large map which marks the trailhead and follow the signs for the 'Blue Trail' and/or 'Red Trail'). Lots of bridges and boardwalks over inlets and wetlands where the beauty of nature looks perfectly blended with spectacular expensive homes.

Want to walk or bike along yet another absolutely stunning trail? The Watersound Trail currently connects Walton County from the Watersound Origins community from Conservation Park farther east. This five-mile trail can be accessed at Village Commons in Watersound Origins and is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a quiet bike ride through nature (address: 530 Pathways Drive Watersound FL, 32461).

For those who can't have enough of the beauty of nature around here, Point Washington State Forest boasts 15,000 acres and more than 27 miles of distinct trails that meander through coastal scrub, wet prairie, swamplands and longleaf pine flatwood (Cassine Trail's my favorite).

Topsail Hill Preserve Park is another nature preserve about 30 minutes away, which has two more coastal dune lakes, Lake Campbell and Morris. Topsail Hill is named for its dunes which rise like ships’ sails over soft sand beaches and the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Park has more than 15 miles of trails where walkers pass through old-growth pine forests, sandy scrubland and wetlands. Visitors can kayak or paddleboard on the Gulf of Mexico. Personal watercrafts are not allowed but can be rented in the park. You can also bicycle to the beach.

Many other attractions nearby such as Alys Beach Nature Trail or Morrison Springs which you can Google which is great for sightseeing, swimming and especially scuba diving (you can Google the huge underwater cave here which is so large its boundaries have not yet been reached).

You can also visit Cypress Spring for another worthy day-trip away from the beach. Rent a kayak or canoe and pedal through crystal waters and spy the wildlife under the surface which includes a variety of turtles and mullet. Many companies offer adventures such as guided eco-tours and snorkeling via underwater scooter.

This popular touristic location also has fascinating museums and arcades such as Man In the Sea Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not Odditorium, Cobra Adventure Park, Pirate's Island Adventure Golf or Hidden Lagoon Super Golf and Super Racetrack (my favorite miniature golf course), or Rockit Lanes Family Entertainment Center - the largest in the Florida Panhandle including Ballistic Bowling, roller skating and the Mega Arcade.

Ask me anything you'd like before or after you get here and I'll make sure you keep having terrific fun and enjoying every minute of your stay. :)

I am an originally Turkish lady who has recently relocated to Panama City Beach, previously living in Fort Walton Beach for two years. I simply love living by the water across from the beach, I jump into the Gulf and take long swims twice a day almost every day. I also love scuba diving, taking long walks on the gorgeous nature trails nearby, as well as traveling and exploring other beautiful new places. My hobbies include nature photography, making realistic flower and animal sculptures and writing.
