Your home away from home!

Looking for a vacation in a quiet residential neighborhood with a view of the sea, and within five minutes walk to amenities - fully stocked supermarket, doctors office, restaurants, pharmacy, and the sea then this is the place for you!

The rental is a 1000 sq. ft. Ground floor apartment situated on a ridge at end of a cul de sac; no highway in sight and no passing traffic. Excellent for that quiet get away to rejuvenate yourself and finally get that novel finished.

This one bedroom apartment offers complete privacy and is totally self catering with fully equipped kitchen and dining room spaces. There is a living and entertainment room space with a flat screen TV, DVD, WIFI etc. Private off road parking. Apartment sleeps a maximum of 2 persons; queen size bed in the lone bedroom. Ceiling fan in bedroom and living room, and shower/jacuzzi bath in bathroom; air conditioning is available in the lone bedroom for an additional daily fee. A washing machine is located within the apartment. High speed internet and android box with access to several channels from all over the world and movies. Clear view of the sea including passing catamarans, jet skis and cruise ships from any location in the living room even when lying on the couch. Ample spaced patio faces the sea. The apartment truly offers a visitor that feel of a home away from home!

Lock box with code to provide access to key to the apartment upon arrival at any time. Key also provides access to side gates providing access to the rear of the apartment. Guests have access to the entire grounds of the property. Apartment has its own washing machine however no dryer. There is a high capacity clothes horse in the apartment; there is also access to an environmentally friendly solar clothes line dryer at the rear of the apartment.

Otros aspectos a destacar
Few things to note:

a) The apartment has only one bedroom. There is a queen size bed and a couch in the bedroom.

b) Though the apartment is on the ground floor, the property is located at the base of a ridge; thus the land of the property has a significant slope. That being said; there are two separate stairs and a total of seven (7) steps from the driveway to the patio of the apartment.

c) Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access.

d) A pay as you go cellphone is available at no cost if required; the phone being returned prior to the departure of a tenant. There is no land line telephone in the apartment.

e) High speed wireless internet is available and included in rental fee

f) Check out is 11:00am on the day of departure; however tenants are usually afforded the opportunity to stay in the apartment until later in the day of their departure beyond 11:00am, if no future tenants are expected on the following day

Apartment is at the end of the road on a ridge (at a cul de sac). Result is that the there is no passing traffic or constant stream of traffic resulting in a very quiet neighborhood. Being elevated on a ridge results in the ability to see beautiful sea views, even from road level. To the rear of the property is one acre of steeply sloping undeveloped land, which: is heavily forested/vegetated, adds to the privacy of the property, and is lovely and calming to look at.

The property is indeed located in a residential area; I have several friendly neighbours. Neighbors tend to congregate at the beach at Fitts Village early in the mornings and late in the afternoon - the beach can at times be a community meeting ground of sorts.

The neighborhood also has several other vacation apartments, so day by day especially during the winter season several overseas guests make up the community. Demand for occupancy is high during the winter season so book soon!

Indeed a guest staying at the apartment will experience that home away from home feeling, and what life is like for the average Barbadian on a day by day basis. The close proximity (and convenience) of Jordan's supermarket, a doctor's office, pharmacy, restaurants, and other shopping is one of the things really loved about the neighborhood. The Fitts Village Esplanade/beach park is also a definite plus; the benches/gazebo allow a visit to the beach for a "sand free" picnic or get together.

I own this lovely apartment in Barbados. I am passionate about island life, and living close to and enjoying the riches that the sand and sea offer - in tropical isles such as Barbados. I love the eastern Caribbean and when I can..I try to visit the other nearby islands. I absolutely love swimming and the opportunities I have to snorkel and sail, given that I live so close to the sea. Bit of a typical guy when it comes to movies, preferring the odd action, science fiction film or thriller. I am an avid reader; more drawn to novels that describe the experience of life on other places on earth or those that by way of the story educate on the history of our times. With regard to hosting, I try to make guests feel as if the apartment is their home away from home, by making sure that they have as much privacy as possible. Happy to be on call for any reason, whether it is to fix a problem in the apartment, give directions or to just hang out and chat about life in this great island of Barbados, and fun things to do. Barbados can be an expensive place to stay. My mission with the apartment is to provide affordable accommodation in Barbados with all the key amenities - in a manner that makes the guest's stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Apartment offers complete privacy with private parking and access. There is an upper level apartment and another rental studio on property. I live at the upper level however I am a full time employed engineer and am only on property late in the evenings and on weekends. However when I'm on property, I love to chat with guests about Barbados, places to see, thing to do and am generally available to answer any queries or resolve any problems that may pop up in the apartment. There may be guests in the studio apartment - also on the ground floor, which also presents additional opportunities for guest interaction. A lovely cleaning lady will come by weekly to clean apartments, change bed linen etc. You will be well taken care of.
