The Cottage is a terraced property which has been recently refurbished, it is ideally situated in the heart of Cornwalls rural mining community which allows ready access to the majority of Cornwall, the Eden Project and access to both coastlines are within a driveable distance.
Parking is available in the village public car park (100m away) or alongside the main road, parking is normally available but does have peak usage times which may affect availability.
The Cottage is situated in a small village outside of St Austell, there are local amenities and shops within walking distance and access to larger town/Cities only a short drive away

Sticky's Place has been a holiday let since 2009 and has had dozens of very satisfied holidaymakers who were really happy in the cottage.
Sticky's Place is a cosy cottage ideal for two people but there is also a sofa bed and so up to four people can be accommodated. The cottage is situated in the garden of the proprietor's house. This holiday let in Cornwall consists of UPVC double glazing throughout, and the entrance leads to a cosy open plan lounge area measuring 5 metres x 2.5 metres comprising of a double sofa bed (4ft 6in mattress). wall mounted flat screen Freeview TV with DVD player, an electric radiator, the lounge is carpeted. The size of the sofa bed should be noted and recognition that being a sofa bed it may not seem as comfortable as a full-size bed. The cottage is situated in the grounds of the proprietors house, which is believed to have been a clay mine captains house that is 100yrs old. Sticky's Place is close to the market town of St Austell and is a granite building that has been used for approximately 20yrs as living accommodation and meets all safety standards. The cottage is fitted with wired in smoke detectors and has a fire blanket and extinguisher. This holiday let in Cornwall consists of UPVC double glazing throughout, and the entrance leads to a cosy open plan lounge measuring 5 metres x 2.5 metres comprising of a double sofa bed (4ft 6in mattress), wall mounted flat screen freeview TV with DVD player with over 60 TV channels, an oil filled radiator, the lounge is carpeted. There is an iron and ironing board. Leading off the lounge is an open plan kitchenette, which has a sink, conventional oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, small fridge, electric hob and a conventional worktop oven. There is ample cupboard space and all crockery, cutlery, kitchen linen and kitchen utensils are included. Leading off the lounge area is a bathroom which has a cubicle shower, WC and small handbasin. The bathroom is tiled and has a wall mounted radiator Towels are provided during your stay and will be changed twice weekly. Leading off the lounge you will find the main bedroom measuring 3 metres x 3 metres which contains a king size bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and drawers. There is an oil filled radiator. There is a freeview TV with over 60 TV and over 20 radio channels. The bedroom is carpeted and tastefully decorated.  All bedlinen is included during your stay  and will be changed weekly. The sofa in the lounge area can be used as another double bed, and bedlinen can be provided for this bed also. There is a hair dryer in the bedroom. The hot tub is no longer available for the use of guests of the cottage. There is also a travel cot, a highchair and a buggy available for use at no extra cost. We endeavour to make your visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and will only be too pleased to answer any questions you feel you have before and during your stay. Just ask. Nanpean has 2 churches and a small Chinese takeaway. All of these are within a short walking distance from Sticky's Place. Other amenities that can be found locally to Nanpean are a medical centre which controls a cluster of doctors surgeries very close by. A supermarket can be found only a very short 10 minute car journey to the local villages of Roche or St Dennis. A chemist can be found in St Dennis, as well as a Barclays bank. A walkers trail can be found in and around Nanpean which gives you the chance to have a insight in relation to the clay mining industry.

    Saltbox Lodge is a quiet, secluded cabin (previously a woodshed) within our cottage's garden, which is set in the middle of Goss Moor. It's a perfect central spot for exploring both the north and south Cornish coastlines, the nearest beaches sitting about 20 minutes drive away. After being on the beach you can enjoy a soak in the wood fired hot tub or cycle around the Goss Moor trail. We are usually available nextdoor if you need any help choosing where to explore, surf, relax or eat out!
    The cabin has a basic, but fully equipped kitchen and outside BBQ if you wish to eat at home. We will provide tea, coffee, milk and oil/salt/pepper. There's a very efficient log burner for cosy evenings and also an electric heater & blankets for the cooler nights. The wood fired hot tub is a great way to relax. There's a cost of £5 per basket for logs or you can buy your own locally if you prefer. There is a king sized bed and small space for clothes etc. If needed, a small double floor mattress can be set up in the communal space. The cabin is all one level, but there are uneven surfaces, gravel and steps to access it. There is a large, private space for parking. The track leading to the property is very potholed, you'll need to drive carefully and slowly.
    We are based in Goss Moor, right in the centre of Cornwall, approximately 9 miles from Newquay and 6 miles from St Austell. The immediate area is perfect for an easy cycle or dog walk, and there's an abundance of wildlife. The friendly local cows and Shetland ponies are free ranging, just toot your horn or give a shout to get them to move out the road! There are some basic local amenities, a post office, butchers, Co - op, pubs and a fish and chip shop, all a few minutes drive. I'd probably recommend going further afield to eat out. Nearly all of Cornwall's attractions are accessible from the cabin in under an hour (give or take). We are approximately 20 minutes from both Watergate Bay on the North Coast and Carlyon Bay on the South. The port towns of Padstow & Mevagissey and the famous Eden Project and Heligan Gardens are all under 10 miles away. Beautiful surf spots, excellent restaurants, coastal walks and even some trail mountain bike riding are all easy to access. We love it!

    Our solar powered off grid cabin is set in its own private 3/4 acre field with covered veranda and deck area , fire pit and outdoor seating . Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom . This cosy character cabin is great for a relaxing break with easy access to A30 and 10 minute drive from the airport , great central location bordering Tregoss moor. Approx 15 minutes to Eden project, 15 minutes to the beautiful Watergate bay and 22 minutes to Padstow. Accessed over our own private level crossing .
    Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and seating area with wood burner. Wardrobe and hanging space. Bath and composting toilet. USB charging facilities. Covered outside seating area, sun deck with loungers, fire pit and picnic bench. Rental of the Shack includes parking, own private 3/4 acre field with access to 2 acres of young woodland.
    The Shack is situated between farmland and Site of special Scientific interest (SSSI). We are on the Goss Moor multi use trail which 480 hectares national nature reserve. The Shack is situated in a south facing sheltered field where it is not uncommon to see and hear deer, owls and bats . We are very close to Cornwall services which have a laundrette, barbers and multiple food options .

    Our annex is small but perfectly formed and offers a little piece of the Cornish countryside to guests looking to explore Cornwall. Ruthvose is centrally located. The annex is away from the main house and accommodates two easily with a double bedroom on the first floor and an open plan kitchen living room on the ground floor. There is a private outdoor space, ample parking and a quiet rural location while being roughly 15 minutes from the north coast towns of Padstow, Newquay and Wadebridge.
    The annex is completely self contained and away from the main house. Facing away from our view and the annex patio is completely private.
    The neighbourhood is very quiet, a small very quaint Cornish hamlet. We are very centrally located in Cornwall, equal distance to both coasts and north to south Cornwall, making us ideal for exploring Cornwall. We are located just off the A30 for easy access for your stay. Close by is the Eden project, Newquay, Padstow, Truro, Wadebridge, Rock, Polzeath and St Austell.

    Welcome to the Shabby Shack. The Shabby Shack wasn't always shabby it was once a wagon unloved and lost to the Cornish undergrowth. It hadn't been used for 30 years and was falling to bits, slowly. However, after a year of painting, sawing, polishing and wiring, the wagon has had a new lease of life and has been up-cycled to the Shabbiest Chichiest Shack in Cornwall. Come and enjoy staying in Shabby as much as we loved up-cycling him
    The shabby shack is completely off grid all electricity comes from solar panels. There is absolutely no hidden gas bottles powering anything. This mean you have one of the most environmentally friendly holidays in Cornwall. A week here and you ll be Smug in the knowledge that your Carbon foot print was ant sized. If the sun does nt shine a day or so lighting the wood burner provides a source of heat and cooking ; the wood is from the surrounding farmland so you can be snug but also still smug in the knowledge that no fracking or drilling has occurred to heat or feed you. The location is ideal for getting that much craved for peace and tranquility.
    The odd bird may peer at you, a butter fly may flutter by. I would watch out for the local Owl who may swoop over you at night and give you a hoot.

    Comfortable converted Pig barn set in the mature gardens of our farm. This barn is ideal for guests who appreciate quirky accommodation. Located a few miles from Newquay and close to some wonderful beaches, the closest being Watergate Bay. Our barn is conveniently located for visiting Cornwall's many beauty spots and places of interest such as The Eden Project, Lanhydrock and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
    The barn has 1 double bed so is suitable for either single occupancy or a couple. Towels are provided. Toilet, shower and washing up facilities are a short walk across the courtyard, these are shared with our small campsite. There is no kitchen area however tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the barn. The entrance door is 119cm high so you do have to duck to get in! Once inside standing is not a problem. The barn is situated behind the farmhouse in our gardens. Picnic bench is available for alfresco dining!
    We are located on the Goss Moor Trail. On this multi-use trail you can enjoy learning about the rich, natural and industrial heritage of Goss Moor National Nature Reserve. It is a 7 mile circular trail for walkers and cyclists. Screech Owl Sanctuary (Wildlife Park) is a 5 minute walk away.

    The newly refurbished self catering apartment forms the bottom section of the house shown and can sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms. The large master bedroom sleeps 2 people with a double bed and sofa bed. There is also a bunk bed in the second bedroom. The sun room has a dining area for up to 4 people and a lounge area with TV. There are patio doors leading out to the enclosed garden which is available for your shared use with the owners.

We can also offer a travel cot, stroller and high chair if needed. If required we can collect you from the station or airport for a small additional charge. There will be a Welcome pack in your apartment with some basic items to help start you on your holiday as well as a selection of leaflets showing the attractions in the area. The owners will be on hand to give any information or help you may require during your stay. The location of the apartment is ideal for exploring all of Cornwall with Newquay, St Austell and Truro nearby. There are also many places of interest in the area. LOCATION The self catering apartment is located in an elevated semi-rural position in the heart of Mid Cornwall between St Austell on the south coast and Newquay on the north. It is 12 miles from Newquay airport, 4 miles from St Austell and the Eden Project, 14 miles from Truro, Cornwall's capital city and 5 miles from the A30 being the main road running through the centre of Cornwall. From the property you can see the north and the south coast and on a clear day right down to the Penwith peninsula in the far west. You will also see some stunning sunsets if the weather is in your favour. AMENITIES and SERVICES- A to Z We have a gas BBQ with all necessary utensils that can be used if you wish. We can lend you buckets and spades etc. if needed. You can enjoy Alfresco DINING outside in the garden or if you prefer inside in the Sun room whilst enjoying the views across west Cornwall. Locally within 250 meters there is a very well stocked Premier store and local chip shop. There are also many nearby take-aways that offer delivery. Asda and Tesco superstores are just 5 miles away. We have a selection of board GAMES available. We have a stroller, travel cot and high chair for INFANTS We have various INFORMATION leaflet's showing places of interest. There is an IRON and ironing board . BED LINEN and TOWELS are provided to lighten your load. Please bring your own BEACH TOWELS. We are happy to assist you with your LUGGAGE to and from the apartment. There is PARKING at the property. TRANSPORT. We are just over 4 miles from the mainline train station and can collect you from there if needed. We are on 3 main bus routes with buses every 30 mins. If you wish to fly into Newquay we can collect you for a small additional charge. There are two TV's and STERIO as well as a DVD player along with a selection of games and DVDs.Wii console available on request. The kitchen has a WASHING machine and there are washing lines inside and out. You will be provided with a WELCOME pack of food items to help get your holiday started. En 4 días visitamos St Austell, Charlestown, St Ives, Lands End, St Micheals Mount, Tintangle, Newquay, Truro y Mevagissy. Fue maravilloso volver al apartamento bien equipado y cenar y prepararnos para el día siguiente utilizando el confiable WIFI.   • Fantástico apartamento para nuestro viaje corto con un niño pequeño. Cocina totalmente equipada, muchos asientos, un hermoso jardín con una gran vista y muchos juguetes para mantener ocupados a los más pequeños. Buena ubicación para visitar el resto de Cornwall. Los anfitriones también proporcionaron suministros para un desayuno cocinado que fue muy apreciado.

    Rossland Barn is a detached cosy get-away situated in the heart of Cornwall, mid way between the North and South coasts. Staying here allows easy access to all that Cornwall has to offer. The property provides a Living Room/Kitchen downstairs and a Bedroom and Shower Room upstairs. Everything that is needed for a self catering holiday. It is a rural setting with farms dotted around and horses are often in the field next to the Barn. A great place to relax & unwind any time of year.
    It is peaceful and quiet at Rossland well away from the tourist crowds with views out over three moors. Guests are welcome to use the grounds of Rossland. The Barn itself is centrally heated with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. There is also a wood burner downstairs that can be used. There is a TV and DVD/Blu Ray player downstairs and one TV in the bedroom. The Kitchen Area is fully equipped with an oven including grill, a microwave and a fridge with a small freezer box. There is a recycling bin and hoover located in the cupboard under the stairs. We generally keep a stock of cleaning materials under the sink. An iron is provided which is also under the kitchen sink, the ironing board is located behind the Bedroom door. There is a hairdryer in the right top cube of the cube stack in the Bedroom. Outside of the Barn to the rear is a fenced off garden with seats. The garden is secure for a dog and is separated from our dogs' space.
    The neighbourhood is peaceful and steeped in history, from ancient hill forts to medieval field systems and has the visible impact of the china clay industry on the landscape. We would welcome you to join us on a dog walk for a guided tour of this area of Cornwall. The village of St Dennis has a number of facilities. There is a Spar shop with a Post Office, a pharmacy and two other independent grocery shops. The village also has a fish & chip shop, a pub, an hotel and a working men's club. There are two garages and also an active football club and brass band. The carn that Rossland sits on the side of is topped by St Denys Church. The church occupies what was the site of an Iron Age hill fort and the field systems extending to the North are medieval. There are fantastic views of the sea and sunset from the church grounds.

    My place is close to the local towns of St Austell, Truro or Bodmin. There are many beaches close by and you’ll love my place because of the peace and quiet and the location we are within reach of so many places in just a few minutes such as 'The Eden Project' and 'The Lost Gardens of Heligan' which can be reached and these are open most of the year! The area and Cornwall is steeped in history! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers and the scenery is breathtaking!
    Our place is unique because our guests have the use of the 2 rooms and the heated conservatory on the lower floor with large TV, they can relax in the evenings with a cuppa in the sitting room/second bedroom complete with TV. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the sitting room. This gives our guests their own bit of space but still feel at home! On the warmer evenings they might want to eat outside in the garden where there is a large patio table and chairs for their use. The main guest bedroom has a kingsize bed and a single sofa bed. The second bedroom/sitting room. Please note:- Breakfast is laid out in the main dining room upstairs. Please note: Breakfast is laid out from Monday-Friday 7-8am Weekends 8-9am Check out 10am
    The neighbourhood around us is very quiet, we hardly ever see anyone walking past unless they are going past while walking their dogs. And as we are in a cul-de-sac the only traffic that comes through our road are locals or if someone has to turn around at the bottom of the road. The village is just a short walk away from us and has a variety of shops including Premier Store, Co op, veg shop, butchers, charity shop, laundrette, fish n chip shop, Chinese take-away, small cafe, taxi service, kebabs, pharmacy and post office. Oh! And a lovely pub! The Rock Inn just a few minutes walk, and they serve delicious food as we and our other guests can recommend! If you would like a table booked for the evening of your arrival please just ask and i can do that for you as i have for many other of my guests! Both pub and the fish-n-chip shop are within walking distance, their food is delicious and is also a chip shop has a restaurant should our guests want to eat in.

Through the gate beside our house, The Garden Room has level access with a low threshold, and a key safe - just in case you arrive whilst we are out. Quiet, with parking across the road from our house in our double lay-by.
    Home baked cake on arrival (please inform me should you not want this). No cleaning fee. A mile from Kingsley Shopping Village - ideal for work. Please read the DIRECTIONS on how to find us, as the postcode doesn't bring you directly to the house but to cul de sac down the road. My guidebook lists food establishments and places of local interest.
    Situated in mid-Cornwall just 2 miles off the A30, we are ideally placed to explore the whole county.

    My place is close to The Eden Project, the village has a local pub as well as several takeaway shops. It is just five minutes from the A30 ideal for for visiting beaches and harbours.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. The property is three minutes from Victoria Business Park, ideal for reps who need a central location. Breakfast consists of cereals. Fruit juice, yogurt and biscuits, plus water including still and sparkling as well as tea and coffee.
    Guests are very welcome to make use of the garden, one well behaved dog is very welcome
    We are 10 mins from Eden Project, 5 mins from A 30 closest beach is 20 mins away . Roche Rock is a five minute walk away and well worth a look. We are based in a small residential area and back onto the village school. The village has several shops plus a few food outlets. The village pub is just a short walk away.

    Brynn Barton is a 250 year old downstairs beamed cottage in the very centre of Cornwall, ideally located 10 miles from both the north and south coast.
    The Cottage The house itself is separated from any other property and comes equipped with two double-bed bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and an outside BBQ area all at your personal disposal. The style of the house is very rustic and suitable for the age of the building. *IMPORTANT* The house is heated only with a wood burner located in the living room, powering a boiler to warm the heaters around the house. So you must be prepared and able to light a fire while you are staying at Brynn Barton. Fire wood is provided for you for the duration of your stay. There is a downstairs shower room which includes the toilet on the property and there is constant running hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and hobs, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and all the appliances that you will need. The dining room is a great place to enjoy your meals and also comes with an office desk for working while you are away. The Location Brynn Barton is located away from other properties between livestock fields. *IMPORTANT* There is, however, a large main road adjacent to the property and so traffic noise can be quite substantial. This should not affect your sleep or relaxation but please be aware that if you need complete peace and quiet then this may not be appropriate for you. There is a BBQ area just for you which includes a stereo system for you to play music in seclusion. If you desire a BBQ we ask you to bring your own coal and wood for this purpose but feel free to use the BBQ grill and utensils. There are horses in the fields surrounding the house. There is a swing bench and lush green surroundings for you to admire as well as local shops and services less than 3 miles away. There is ample parking at the property with one under cover space available to use and pets are welcome to stay so long as they are able to be under control with livestock nearby and kept downstairs at all times. The second bedroom has a single bed that folds out to a double. Use of a travel cot if required.
    Trewoon is a village in south Cornwall.It is on the western outskirts of St Austell, on the A3058 road.The village has many amenities and local businesses: a garage (mechanical operations only), a post office, a busy local convenience store, hairdressers, "The White Pyramid" pub, serving excellent food. A Methodist church (Trinity Methodist Church). Trewoon is mentioned in the Domesday Book (as Tregoin: held by Hamelin from the count of Mortain) and is part of the St Mewan Parish and had its own manor known as Hembal Manor. Lots of country walks and beaches to explore within a couple of miles.

    Tremodrett Barn is a luxury two-bedroom, two bathroom, contemporary barn conversion, furnished in boutique-hotel style. Nestling, on a small private estate, amongst five adjacent barns, it is surrounded by fields and open countryside. Tremodrett is a tranquil, leafy hamlet just over a mile from the A30 main road through Cornwall and gives easy access to both coasts and all of the county. Graded 5 stars according to Visit England standards, you are assured of a comfortable holiday.
    The open-plan living area with Juliet balcony is on the first floor with a dramatic ceiling soaring into the eaves with beams and large roof lights creating a sunny light-flooded area. Sofas are by Laura Ashley and lighting by OKA. The modern kitchen is well equipped with e.g. professional quality pans, Sophie Conran china and food processors. We also provide cookery books by Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein and Mary Berry to provide a little inspiration! There are two downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms ( twin with en-suite and a family bathroom). The king-size bedroom has a contemporary oak four-poster bed ( we love to spoil our guests and a little luxury is essential on holiday, isn't it?) and French doors opening onto the courtyard where you can pop out for a morning coffee at the bistro table. The large twin bedroom is a dramatic room with roof sloping into the eaves - children and adults alike will love this space! There is a new contemporary en-suite shower-room in the twin bedroom . A third room is set up as a TV den/quiet room - perfect for children to chill and give a little respite to the grown-ups! There is a sunny garden at the front of the barn overlooking open fields and barns with a slate patio area for dining for 4 together with a kettle BBQ. The garden is furnished with palms, bamboo and flowers which thrive in Cornwall's mild climate and a long low raised bed with flowers and shrubs. The rear courtyard is shared with two other barns and decorated with mature hydrangeas and other shrubs. We have a bistro table and chairs for two. The estate is surrounded by open fields and mature trees. We even have our own resident wood-pecker! There is ample parking for 3/4 cars in our designated parking space. In winter we arrange the furniture so guests can keep cosy in front of the fire ( electric with real fire effect).
    As soon as we saw the barn and the estate we knew this would suit us and our guests really well. The location is so peaceful yet with the main road for Cornwall so close it is easy to get around the county. We love the granite and slate used throughout the estate and the open fields and mature trees surrounding the estate. Waterside resort just 3 miles away provides great facilities for our guests - a swimming and toddler pool ( see photos), sauna, gym, lakeside walks and Segway.. An adult swim is £6. There is also a modern recently refurbished café, bar and restaurant. Please see their website for further details. There is a very popular pub in Lanivet, 3 miles away and a pub in Roche, 1 mile. Roche provides everyday shopping facilities with a good butchers, takeaways and a modern, medium size Co-op. Cornwall Services at thenearby junction on the A30 has lots of fast food outlets e.g. MacDonalds and Costa and a climbing wall for children.

    My annex is close to the beach, 5 Miles from Newquay, 8 miles from Padstow, 10 miles form Truro. The apartment has a decent size living space with kitchen, 1 bedroom and a bathroom with shower. You’ll love the annex because of the location and the views. Also good for couples and solo adventurers. The apartment is situated behind my house, Free parking is included for 2 vehicles. I have a hot tub and fully equipped Gym for use if you wish at an additional cost, Please enquire beforehand.
    Ample space for two - three adults or a small family. A double bed and a sofa bed will sleep two - four people.
    Our road leads to a dead end making traffic minimal. We live in a very quite road although the Annex is situated to the rear over looking a Green pasture field.

    My home is a traditional granite-stone built cottage in a quiet village in the heart of Cornwall. St Dennis is 2 miles off the A30 and easy to find on the road to St Austell and the south coast. Only 7 miles to the iconic Eden Project and 10 miles to Newquay with it's beaches and laidback lifestyle. Both Truro and Bodmin are about 15 miles away, as is the beautiful desolate Bodmin Moor. Bus routes run past the house and I can provide secure storage for bicycles
    A simply furnished room with a metal frame double bed, a vintage dressing table with mirror and drawers, hand-painted chair and hand-made rag rugs on the painted floorboards plus quirky ornaments. The house is furnished with vintage furniture and bits and pieces to give an individual, homely feel The house is low energy. Heating in winter is provided mainly by an open fire and woodburner, with additional heating from the air source heat pump (which also provides hot water). I also have solar panels. There is a long garden backing onto a field with a patio area at the back of the house
    St Dennis is a traditional quiet village in Cornwall's Clay Country and as such is set in an interesting industrial landscape. The church is built on the site of an iron age hilltop fort. We are close to Goss Moor National Nature Reserve with its free roaming cattle and ponies. St Dennis has two pubs, a grocery shop, a garage, a traditional fish and chip shop and a kebab shop. The nearby Working Men's Club usually has a band on most Friday evenings and the Boscowan Arms has free entertainment on Saturday evenings.

    Clays House is a modern detached dog friendly family home situated 2 miles off the A30. - Eden Project 15 minutes. - North coast 30 minutes. - South coast under 30 minutes Makes an ideal base for exploring Cornwall. The village is on the edge of the Clay mining area, surrounded by moorland and farmland as well as the famous Roche rock! Roche has a traditional family butcher, greengrocer a co-op and various takeaways and pubs under a mile from the house.
    Clays House is a cosy family home in a quiet residential area, a great space for a complete family holiday or a short break with friends. Two well behaved dogs are welcome and bowls are provided. The house is fitted with retractable stair gates and includes a high chair and travel cot. I have also added children's tableware and cutlery to make your family holiday packing as easy as possible! Please request the travel cot and high chair on booking. The cot has a mattress but please bring your own bedding.
    I was brought up in Roche and went to the village school 35 years ago, very little has changed. Roche is 600ft above sea level and on a clear day has views to Bodmin moor on a rainy day can take your breath away. The walk to Roche rock from the house is windswept and rugged in winter and paved with ferns and pink campions in summer. The weather is a 'coats difference' (according to my Gran) between the top and bottom of the village. The remains of the clay mining can be seen around with many of the tips now returning to nature. When I come home now I'm still comforted to find the same family businesses and characters in the village.
