Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Enjoy the true outdoors with an easy 3/4 - 1 mile private nature hike hosted by a pack of loose, well trained German Shepherd Dogs. The hike starts at our farm in coastal Maine and wanders through a network of trails winding through a natural wild Maine forest. You will be hiking with a large pack of (5 to 12) loose german shepherd dogs of various ages who will want attention along the way! On the walk there are soft forest trails, sometimes mud puddles and slippery footing. Throughout our adventure you will learn tips on hiking with a pack of German Shepherds the way they communicate and what their body language means. Once we return there will be bathroom facilities, snacks and beverages. We will also talk about how we raise and imprint our young shepherds and prepare them as family companions. Your hosts for the nature walk will be either Jennifer, Katie, or both! We began offering pack walks at our open house for our German Shepherd Breeding program, and because of the enthusiasm and popularity, we decided to host this event through Airbnb. Come and spend a day at a farm and make art! We are a woman owned organic farm located near the Sandy River. We have converted a century old dairy barn into a ceramic studio. Let’s spend the day playing with clay and learning together. Here we have options based around your skill level and interests. I can lead you on the potters wheel or in hand building techniques. Our life philosophy is EAT ANYTHING, ANYWHERE. We like eating some of the best foods, in odd places. We will meet on the docks of East Boston where we will tear into and slurp dozens of local oysters, harvested by our oyster farmer friends, while looking over the harbor and skyline. You will learn how to properly shuck an oyster and will go home with a shucking knife of your own. The memories will be in the details. We will set up in "flash-mob" "pop-up" style along the water. Expect the unexpected. Other things to note This is an outdoor experience. To get to the dock, I encourage you to take a water taxi! During our chocolate factory tour, you will learn in detail how we craft chocolate starting with cocoa beans and ending with wrapped and sealed chocolate bars. We'll discuss: 1. How cacao is grown and where it comes from. 2. How we clean and sort our cocoa beans before production. 3. How we roast, grind, and conche our chocolate to maximize flavor and aroma. 4. And how we temper, mold, and wrap our chocolate bars. We'll also get to examine raw cocoa beans, taste some chocolate in production, and sample a variety of finished chocolate bars with unique flavor characteristics.

To many, the world of Hasidic Jews is shrouded in mystery and secrecy—well, not anymore. On this experience, you get to see first hand the daily lives, rituals, and customs of the Hasidic community, guided by a member of the community and being able to access places seemingly closed off and hidden to the outsider. An opportunity to be able to ask any questions about the Jewish faith, culture, and philosophy. We kick off the experience inside a Hasidic home, and learning about what it takes to keep a Kosher home. Then its off to the streets of Crown Heights, starting with exploring the world famous “770” Synagogue, getting a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of daily prayer services. Next stop is a Jewish scribe, seeing up close the intricate details involved in producing the Torah Scrolls. Followed by a walk down the avenue, visiting the local shops, and seeing the traditions dating back to the early 1800’s. We meet at the Kauai Inn and I explain the instruments (drums) we're going to play. We start with simple beats and practice as long as everybody gets it. No worries if you never have been drumming before in your life. I also explain what the drums stand for in the community and how they were used in ancient Hawaii. After one hour of drumming, we start practicing the firedancing. The boys with the samoan fireknife and the girls with the mauri poiballs. We practice without fire for a while and who ever wants to light it on fire, is very welcome to try it (no worries I'll help you). You can take nice pictures and videos while performing with fire. Other things to note And again, if you are beginners, never drum or played with fire in your entire life, don't worry, in my class are all levels of drummer and firedancer from 5 years to 70 years old!

We are excited to teach you you how to create your own unique lei po'o (flower crown). You will choose your own tropical flowers and create a unique and beautiful custom piece made with fresh flowers. All of our flowers are locally sourced from local gardens and we support local farmers. We also provide high quality local store bought flowers such as torch ginger, cymbidium orchids, anthuriums, etc. Our workshop is high end because we use high end flowers and natural materials sourced from Polynesia (Lauhala leaves from Tahiti). Your leis will last 3-4 days and will enrich your Hawaii experience tenfold. While making your lei, I will share the cultural meanings of our leis and why we wear them in Hawai'i. I am born and raised in Laie, Hawaii and have lived here for 27 years. I am passionate about my culture and I would love to share it with you. We'll get comfortable in our studio barn/workshop area, where you'll grab a glass of homemade wine from our organic orchard, wildcrafted herbal tea, and/or fruit-infused spring water from our bar before we get started. Once everyone is settled with a beverage, I'll do a quick demonstration to show you the techniques and procedures for making several different styles of rings. Then you'll get busy working hands-on with different tools and materials to create your own custom, unique ring exactly to your liking. I can provide as much support as necessary to help you to feel comfortable with the process and to create your desired outcome. We'll seal/finish your ring if necessary and you'll take it home with you at the end of the session. For those who are interested, you will also have an opportunity to tour our urban homestead and be immersed in the many endeavors we have going. Take a rest from the stress of the modern world and get ready to fall in love with group of energetic fun seeking Corgis as they take you on a unique journey to a special place where you find hidden dwellings and discover the secret treasure chests. BlissWood Forest is located in Coastal Maine one hour south of Acadia National Park. You will arrive at Corgi Bliss, in the town of Penobscot, on the edge of the forest. There you will meet your hosts, the Corgis along with Jennifer or Katie. Drinks will be offered, as well as a discussion about safety while walking with the corgis . We will set off on our journey through the fields, and into BlissWood Forest. The easy half-mile hike is well maintained and goes at a leisurely pace. The loose Corgis will be scurrying about ahead as they sniff the ground and try to pick up the scent of pixie dust. Help the Corgis find the hidden treasure chests and secret swellings along the path. We pause a lot for selfies, kisses and cuddles from the animals. Then we loop down the trail and return to Corgi Bliss, where drinks and snacks are to be had before saying our goodbyes. We will be outdoors in the fresh air and forest, wear layered clothing and shoes that protect your feet from the elements. Enjoy the earthy smells and forest sounds, and the corgis. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China.

If you are feeling nervous about trying out snorkeling and swimming for the first time, we completely understand! We are here to make sure that your experience is nothing short of excellent. Our team of instructors are all certified lifeguards who have extensive experience working with people of all ages and skill levels. To start your incredible snorkeling journey, you'll meet up with my certified tour guides at the beach. At first, you'll be in the shallower waters, where you'll receive comprehensive instruction on the basics of snorkeling, such as how to use masks and fins, and you'll need to wear a life jacket. My team will be right by your side to offer personalized support and guidance so that you can feel comfortable and confident in the water. Once you've got the hang of breathing effectively with a snorkel and staying buoyant, we'll take you to the nearby reef where you can witness turtles and other fascinating marine animals. During this part of the adventure, you'll be holding onto our rescue board, and your instructor will be by your side to keep you safe. The water is shallow, which creates an enjoyable and secure snorkeling experience for everyone involved. We're so excited to have you join us for an unforgettable snorkeling adventure!
