Love LOVE the nachos and chicken wings. Great local beers, nice pub atmosphere and reasonable prices if you don't drink too much!

This restaurant is such a little gem. I love the homey and down to earth atmosphere. I usually order the French onion soup or the liver and onions. The seafood stuffed mushrooms are amazing but very high in calories so I try to stay away from ordering them!!! They also have their own pizza parlor which I hear is great too!

I highly recommend this restaurant if you are going to visit Victoria and want a bite to eat. The portions are large so my partner and I usually share a main course as we are not big lunch eaters. Great refills of their homemade bread. Honestly could just eat that with a cup of soup and be completely satisfied. Decent prices if you don't order booze.

Sightseeing

This is a very nice walk without having to leave Sooke. The scenery is outstanding and you might get lucky and see some sea lions playing around in the water or even a pod of whales in the distance. The walk itself is about 40 minutes. I recommend running shoes as the footing is sometimes uneven and rocky. Overall, I rate this site a must see on my to do list in Sooke

This is a great little tourist gem. Lots of interesting things to view in and around the museum area. There is a back room that holds the history of Sooke and its humble beginnings. The museum also features local artisans and their creations. The staff is very friendly and will help you if you have any questions about places to see or eat!

Thetis Lake is such a beautiful place to explore. It is about a 45 minute walk around the main lake or you can choose to extend your walk further if you choose. The trails are well marked and fairly easy to navigate although I wouldn't recommend this walk if you have young children as there is rocky terrain in some areas. In the summer, it has a sandy beach which is very popular and busy. It is about a half hours drive from our suite but worth the drive!

Parksville is one of my favorite town to visit. It is two and a half hours from Sooke but well worth the drive. Rathtrevor beach is just beautiful and when the tide goes out, you can walk for a kilometer without the water ever going over your knees. In August they host a sandcastle competition which attracts artists from all over the world. This attraction won't break the bank either as entry is by donation. One of my favorite places to eat is called the Black Goose Inn. It has great pub food and quite a selection of beer on tap. Honorable mentions on the way to Parksville include Chemainus and Coombs.
