This is a great museum focussed on everyday life of people in the city. Location is great, right at the Pier Head. Architecture is stunning, exhibits interesting and best of all it is completely free! It's a great way to start a memorable day out in Liverpool, and you can combine with Albert Dock, Maritime Museum and Liverpool One shopping district all within easy walking distance. Check out the website to get an impression of what's there. https://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk

Hilbre Island lies in the Dee estuary and is a local nature reserve. You can only get there by walking over the sands. First check the tide times by looking at the website, or the tide tables displayed on coastal noticeboards. It is safe to cross 3 hours after high tide, and you should leave no later than 3 hours before the next high tide. In practice this gives you plenty of time to get there and back, allow 3-4 hours to walk to & from West Kirby. Add an extra hour if walking to & from Hoylake. Plan your day in advance, because sometimes it is better to go in the morning, other days in the afternoon depending on the tides. It is well worth it, there are seabirds, seals and an old disused lifeboat station. Dress up warmly though, and if you have binoculars take them along, plus some food & drink as there isn't a cafe on the island itself. It's a special place if you haven't been there before make time to visit while you are on the Wirral. https://www.wirral.gov.uk/leisure-parks-and-events/parks-and-open-spaces/hilbre-islands-local-nature-reserve
