This is one of our favourite hill top towns to visit, with some of the best restaurants we have come across. We strongly recommend visiting Bruno Coppetta for amazing steak and pasta dishes.

Aldo's Bar Gallo for Coffee, Ice Creams and Pastries.
Thursday evening's in the summer enjoy live music in the Piazza starting from 21:00 but maybe get there early for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
There is also a beautiful theatre in Panicale.

Lovely town on lake Trasimeno. Many restaurants to choose from - Osteria le Scalette on the edge of the historic town. La Cantina beautiful views over lago Trasimeno and many more for you to try.
Our favourite place to have breakfast overlooking beautiful Lago Trasimeno is Pescatore Cafe. See photo. Sitting in the shade or sun with a cappuccino and croissant what better way to start the day. Situated right on the lake. As you enter Castiglione del Lago turn right at the roundabout with the fountain. Just past the small marina and police building you will find the cafe.
From here you will see the ferries leave to the island Isola Maggiore. Definitely worth exploring. On the island there is a lovely restaurant called ristorante l’Oso.
La Taverna Di Julio - favourite with the local people. Good for pizzas and steaks. Reasonably priced.

Make sure you have the best ice cream at GROM GELATO. Best pizzas from the Basilica further up on the right hand side Pizza Mediterranea. Well worth the wait! So reasonable to.
