If you are planning a day out to see Ironbridge, then we highly recommend going via Benthall Hall. A fab NT house in its own right, if you park here you can walk across the fields and down through the wooded valley into Ironbridge. You avoid having to park in the busy Ironbridge valley, and get some fabulous views. Take good boots though!

Food Scene
Our lovely local pub! Very highly recommended - especially the loos after a rain storm!! (this is a good thing - trust us!)
You can drive via Brockton lane, or if it is nice weather walk via the farm walk and then cross the bridge over the Corve and follow the footpath to Brockton. It takes half an hour or so to walk.

A fabulous shop. If you wanted to you could do your whole food shop here and support some great local producers. Highly recommended the hot cross buns at Easter.

Welcome!
Skimbles Cottage was built as a farm workers cottage for Skimblescott Farm c. 1850.
If you think it is cosy, bear in mind a family with 6 children once lived here!
Many other generations have called this cottage home - most recently Grandad Jones, who lived here for 30 years after coming to the farm as a boy in 1938.
We wanted to let Grandads cottage out for holidays to share this lovely spot - and we hope you enjoy our little part of Shropshire.

Sunday is the day for a day out
Generally this is a lovely peaceful part of the Corvedale, but the main road can be busy at times, and some Sundays particularly so, especially with motorbikes on their way to the Welsh coast. Great if you like motorbikes, if not Sundays are a good day for a day out somewhere.
