A fairly moderate hike to get to a gorgeous waterfall. Start at the Buckeye Recreation Center and follow signs for hike. Can be done as a loop around the lake or just hike towards the waterfall and come back the same way. Note: there are some moderate steep areas to hike.

Buy groceries before arriving to Airbnb
There’s only one convenience store on the mountain, Fred’s Mercantile Store, where you can find produce and groceries but I’d recommend getting groceries at any of the bigger stores before you come up the mountain. There’s a Food Lion in Banner Elk (around 25-30 minutes) from the house but also some great options in Boone if you’re coming from that direction (Publix, Lowe’s Food, Ingles)
