Ulverston is home to the Laurel and Hardy museum, several parks, and the best ice cream around - Roy’s ice cream van on the coastal road (A5087). This is also a lovely spot to take the dogs on the beach or the kids for a picnic and sandcastles.

This is a lovely zoo only 10 minutes drive away. It’s accessible for prams and wheelchairs and is a lovely day out for all ages. There are lots of different animals and you buy feed to give to the birds. There is a cafe on site and a decent size car park.

This is a great day out. Catch the train which takes you over to Lakeside. From here you can get the ferry to take you across to Bowness on Windermere
