The Centre is 4 miles away. There is paid parking there. Inside there is a museum with a must see film which shows every 10 - 15 mins explaining about the making of the dams and the surrounding area.

The season starts from 26th April (Shakespeare's Birthday) and goes on to the autumn with various productions with local actors and volunteers. There are also visiting companies who perform here too. The outdoor theatre is charming made from living Willow. The theatre seats about 100 persons. When it rains the plays continue in the nearby barn. It is a fifteen minute walk away along a bridlepath or on the road.

Pony trekking and horse riding centre. Local family business run by the granddaughter of the founder of the centre. Horses are home bred and it is a fantastic way to visit and see the local Rhayader surroundings and Elan Valley. There are also Western Experience trails.

Nancy runs the lavender farm here and produces the best and most luxurious skincare products. Buy the Farmers hand cream. You won't regret it! It is a beautiful drive from here and takes about 30 mins.

Bike Park Wales is biggest bike park in UK. A 50 mins drive from the cottage. Get van lift passes up the mountain in advance. Great for beginners and then for advanced bike riders too. Definitely worth a trip.

This Victorian Spa town is 6 miles away by car. In August a Victorian festival is held and local people parade in Victorian clothes.It is quite small but has two large supermarkets : Tesco and Aldi. It also has an excellent health food shop called Vans, several hairdressers, and a good independent book shop. There are several car mechanics and an excellent car parts shop, and two tyre fitting garages.
There is a train station and post office nearby and Boots chemist too.
There is a small hospital but no A&E department.
