This is one of the longest wooden piers in the state!
You can go fishing off the pier or watch surfers / kite surfers.
Many of us remember visiting Rudy's diner at the end of the pier, but sadly it burned down in 2016. The pier was saved and quickly restored after the fire.
There is also a kids park at the base of the pier that our toddler loves!

The Fun zone at the end of the Newport Peninsula is close to my family's heart. You can take the boat ferry from their to Balboa Island which has a very quaint main street. Stroll around the island or drive across the bridge to Fashion Island shopping center.

Besides the theme park, you can also just visit downtown disney which is a family friendly outdoor shopping area with plenty of restaurants and shopping. VERY kid friendly!

Try visiting the aquarium, and afterwards go to "belmont shore" to eat at one of the restaurants that line the street. "Open sesame" is a great mediterranean restaurant there with fresh fare.

There is also a secret menu item which is a classic Egyptian peasant food - foul moudamis (fava beans). Foul with their fresh bread is awesome!

This location is located in a wonderful shopping mall- south coast plaza. They take reservations and walk-ins, but the lines can be long.
