This was a sad, but epic part of New York history when we locked away almost anyone who was 'different' it's actually supposed to be haunted by one time residents, and though you can't walk on the actual campus you can go across the street to the cemetery where there are literally thousands buried in unnamed graves. It's a sad, but beautiful location overlooking Lake Geneva.

Though now Clifton Springs has been turned into an upscale building of apartments it is intricately tied to this house as you will read in the manual you will find that Alice Knapp last Gould Swaby descendent passed here, but so too did she flout the family and leave the home, all it's contents and most of her worldly belongings; not to the wealthy Gould Family, but a working class nurse (Gertrude Nash) whom she befriended and basically adopted while her mother Amelia Gould Swaby was being treated at the then sanitarium.
