The lake is only a short drive away and provides plenty of entertainment for children and adults. It makes for a scenic stroll both in the summer and winter. There are also plenty of activities including paddle boarding, peddle boats and canoes. Whatever you choose, be sure to finish with ice cream or cake at the cafe. If you are feeling energetic, there is a walk from Howey to the lake illustrated in one of the books in the house. City/town information

Llandrindod Wells as its name implies, was historically linked with the health-giving waters which it still provides for visitors today. It is therefore surprising to find that, although the beneficial effects of taking the waters were known to the Romans, the development of the town did not take off until the mid-19th Century with the coming of the railway to the town. It then grew at an astonishing rate, as the taking of the waters became a fashionable part of Victorian life. This quintessential Victorian spa town boasts indoor and outdoor bowling greens, floodlight tennis courts, 18 hole golf course and activity playground. See the Dragon of the Lake, the Chalybeate spout of Rock Park, and Lover's Leap while enjoying the historic architecture of Llandrindod Wells' Victorian buildings.
