Hitch a ride to the trail head at the base of the saddle (top of Lincoln Hills sub division.) From there, you can hike the spine to the top of Jumbo, and come down through Hellgate Canyon or the L trail, landing back base of Jumbo about 5 blocks from Rattlesnake Retreat. 2 hours with climbing, but great Missoula views.
