A fabulous turreted medieval hall which gives you a real flavour of what it must have been like to live in those dark ages - the kitchens are really atmospheric and the great hall and Elizabethan Gallery have featured in many films including The Princess Bride and Jane Eyre

A lovely old market town who's main claim to fame is its delicious almondy pudding. Charming walks by the river, busy streets and shops - especially on Mondays when the market is in town, lots of cafes and charity shops!

Set in a fabulous backdrop of hills (Mam Tor - the 'Shivering Mountain'; Loose Hill and Win Hill) famous for Blue John - a beautiful blue/amethyst stone, with a history dating back to Norman times - it takes its name from the castle which stands above the town which once guarded William the Conqueror's Royal Forest. It also has four show caves and the imaginatively named 'Devil's Arse' - plenty to do and see.
