Our Favorite Restaurants
Rob is without a doubt a die hard "foodie". An amazing chef himself, he is known to take us way out of the way to eat at only the cleanest, well-run, and consistently excellent establishments. Rarely does a restaurant get Rob's thumbs up, these do for reasons you will see. Rob's Top 10 restaurants spans over several states. I will stick with the handful he likes in our town. We highly recommend the following:
Rob's not into chain restaurants, but this Stonewood-owned restaurant is an exception. Their bar and dining room areas are completely different from each other. Their bar area has a beautiful modern bar with friendly, professional bartenders. Sit and eat at the bar or meet new people at large shareable counter height tables.
Their dining room is more formal and is styled as a high-end restaurant (like Capital Grille) without the price tag. Their menu is large and creative. I have promised to go every week until I've tried one of everything. The presentation, the portions, prices and wait staff are all excellent and consistent.
There is hardly an afternoon or evening we pass by that the parking lot is not packed. We're not the only ones in love with Coastal.
Coastal Grill & Raw Bar

Their bar area has a beautiful modern bar with friendly, professional bartenders. Sit and eat at the bar or meet new people at large shareable counter height tables.

Lisa's favorite food of all time: Garlic Crabs are the specialty here. Worth the trip!!!! Not for the ambience (I think its a converted IHOP, actually). The tables are not terribly comfortable and the restaurant is loud. BUT the Garlic Crabs are cooked to perfection. Typically ordered by the pound at other restaurants, at the Crab Stop you order them by the number you wish to eat. A dozen will easily feed two people..... or ONE LISA :) For a treat we take these home, roll out newspaper on the kitchen table, turn on a movie and crack crabs for the next couple of hours. Oh no, my mouth is watering now!!!
By the way, if you're not as crazy about Garlic Crabs they have a full menu and a wide variety of combination plates.
Not terribly expensive, the food is consistent. 10 thumbs up!

I know - a diner? Are you kidding? And where is Osteen?
Osteen is about 20 minutes south of us. And the Diner is a lonely building on a busy rural highway. Rob drove past it for 15 years, never giving it a look until one day in 2017. After perusing the encyclopedic menu (that can take you 15 minutes), he went with the Daily Special - a brisket basket..... and left knowing we'd be back again and again until we try everything. We like to go when we're out on the Harley. Tour out of town in a beeline for Osteen's Diner..... for the special of the day and a piece of decadent homemade pie from the selections in theirmglass case. We've never had a bad meal yet. For this hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere, worth the trip. 5 stars

They smoke meats all day and all night. Lisa's favorite - their smoked chicken wings (holy moly, they are amazing). Rob's favorite - their brisket and pulled pork combination plates. They have four different sauces to choose from. Sit inside or out. Get ready to roll up your sleeves (so you don't get them full of sweet BBQ sauce) and you won't be able to not moan in pleasure with every bite.
PS: They are located directly next to Rossmeyer's Harley Davidson headquarters. The perfect compliment for after dinner dreaming. They have the best sales on HD clothing and accessories.

Rob doesn't care for teppanyaki because he doesn't like playing with food or having it thrown at him. We typically eat Japanese, but they also have amazing steaks and selections from a Chinese menu.
They give a free meal for your birthday if you go with 6 or more people during the week of your birthday. What a great deal.
The food here is the most consistent of all restaurants we recommend. Consistently EXCELLENT. We can confidently say, RUN don't walk. You'll leave with happy tummy.
