On the foot of Monte Sassalto is the village Caslano and its vast square on the lake. It is protected by the Swiss Confederation for interesting geological, faunal and botanical characteristic. Museum goers will find the Fishing Museum, the Chocolate Museum and a camera exhibition of the Vincenzo Viccari Foundation.

A medieval village center with romantic narrow streets, piazzas, enchanting fountains and old porticos with houses renovated by great architects. The jewel however is the Church San Rocco.
