Sightseeing
The Grotte di Catullo represent the most impressive testimony of a Roman villa in northern Italy. These are the remains of a building dating back to the period between the end of the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, on the southern shore of Lake Garda, in Sirmione. The first denomination of "caves" dates back to the fifteenth century, when some chroniclers found these remains of "caves", mostly collapsed and covered with grass. The archaeological site is located at the end of the peninsula and can be reached only on foot, or with an electric train, departing from the square in front of the Sirmione spa.
