Parks & Nature
It's one of the most famous beaches in Rio and the world. A very popular. Just be careful if you have cameras and cell phones with you. Make sure you keep your personal items with you at all times. It´s nice to have a great time with some beach volleyball at the Arena during the Olympics.

This trail is very interesting, and leads to breathtaking views. Many different paths lead to this spot, the easiest starts in Praia Grande in Guaratiba, a longer one starts near Grumari.

The park is in front of Prainha Beach, has free entrance. The visitors will be able to do hiking. It leads to a lookout point with a beautiful view and the trail is easy and small ( around 20 mins each way and 20 back ) . You can go with childrens. There is no public transportation to go there.

It leads to a lookout point with a beautiful view and the trail is easy and small ( around 20 mins each way and 20 back ) . You can go with childrens. There is no public transportation to go there.
You can see a lot of animals of Brazilian fauna: alligators, capybaras, turtles and marmosets. It is free, but closed on Mondays. The park is pretty and they have a small collection of alligators, capybaras, marmosets and turtles in cages a few 100 feet from the playground. The REAL attraction is the small trail - the smallest being 73 metres - here your trip will be "disturbed" by the lizard that roam freely in the park.

Outstanding views! Fantastic beach located very near from the apartment. Good for surfing or relaxing. Not as busy as Copacabana or Ipanema beach and a good place to slip away from the crowds. Go in the morning as the water is calmer. This is a perfect place to see the Sunset in Rio due the position of the seaside versus the sun. The beach is very safe too (don't even dare being careless in ipanema or copabacana). You will love it!! (there's no public transportation for getting there - you can go by car or Uber).

The open sea can be a bit rough so watch the locals and don't swim too far from the shore as there are no lifeguards on this beach.
