The Paseo Marítimo or Passeig de Joan Carles I, with the Marina Ibiza and Marina Botafoc marinas, constitutes the noble area of the city, with luxurious shops next to the pontoons and some of the most epicurean restaurants. Its environment concentrates a large leisure area with several hotels, the Ibiza Casino, numerous fashionable bars and important nightclubs, such as Pachá. The walk begins in the avenue of Santa Eulària, at the pier where the boats of Formentera dock, and continues through the Nautical Club and the fishing pier, with the walled city in front, until it connects with Passeig de Joan Carles I, parallel to the old port. From here, everything is landscaped, with playgrounds and open-air gyms, luxury apartments, marinas - first Marina Ibiza and then Marina Botafoc - and terraces and hotels.

Small pebbles beach with sand underwater, accessible from a small path that starts between Es Cubells church and a handful of houses on the cliff. It is a quiet place because there are no bars around, and the path is not indicated. Not far from it there are other small solitary coves difficult to reach. Those mostly known are Ses Boques and Cala Llentrisca.

Informazioni sulla città/località

Dalt Vila is the intramural neighborhood and historical nucleus par excellence of Eivissa. Its imposing walled enclosure stands on a hill and is visible from many kilometers away, by land and sea. The construction of the walls was the decision of King Felipe II (16th century), who conferred on Eivissa a strategic role in its defense policy in the Mediterranean and ordered to build the fortress to stop the invasions and constant looting of the Berber pirates. When the island was no longer a regular target of corsair attacks, the acropolis remained standing for posterity and today it is a World Heritage Site, according to a Unesco declaration. It is the only complete preserved Renaissance fortress in the whole of Europe, together with the Valletta precinct, on the island of Malta.

This beach is situated next to the port, and separated from it by an isthmus where Botafoc lighthouse is. Talamanca is popular because its chiringuitos (beach bars) are open all year and they organise free sport activities. It is also the only beach in the island with an audio-system ready for the blind. It is an ideal place to have a quiet aperitif, practice yoga or sail. There are several hotels at each end of the beach, but in the centre there are just a few chiringuitos. This beach has wooden walkways that allow the access to the disabled, as well as public toilets and showers. In July and August it is the quietest beach in Ibiza city.

Ses Salines was declared a Natural Park in 2001 and constitutes one of the essential visits to be made in Ibiza. The reserve's territory covers almost 3,000 land and 13,000 marine hectares, and extends across the south of Ibiza and the north of Formentera, also occupying the arm of the sea that separates them, which is home to a large part of the oceanic posidonia meadows that surround the islands and which are part of the declaration of Ibiza World Heritage Site, in 1999. Their action is the cause of the rich marine biodiversity of the island, as well as the purity of its waters and even the landscape of the Pitiusan coast. In Ibiza, the entrance to the park is located near Sant Jordi. It houses not only the ancient ponds of the salt flats, but also the beaches of Es Codolar, Ses Salines, Es Cavallet; the cove of Sa Sal Rossa; the defensive towers of Es Carregador and Ses Portes, the church of Sant Francesc and the chapel of Sa Revista. In the parish house of Sant Francesc, next to the church, there is also the Interpretation Center of the Ses Salines Natural Park, where the flora and fauna of the reserve, as well as the history of the ponds, can be learned in detail.

Santa Gertrudis still retains the special charm of a small place and it should also be included in every itinerary, not only because it is situated by a crossroads linking Ibiza with Sant Miquel and Sant Mateu, but also because you just cannot leave the island without eating one of the most delicious sandwiches of your lifetime, available in several different establishments in this village, summer and winter alike or without having dinner in some of the many restaurants that spread in its tiny streets. Many of them have charming terraces in romantic gardens. The boutiques stand out by their high quality, offering their own designs mostly.

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches in the island because it faces the rocky islands of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell. It is an ideal family place, as there are bars and restaurants to have a meal or a cool drink. There is also a boutique where they sell bikinis, beach wraps, T-shirts and pretty white dresses. At dusk, the sunset is especially wonderful if you watch it from the surrounding cliffs. The white sand touches the edges of the huts.

This was the first nudist beach in Ibiza and one of the first in the whole country. All kinds of people lay on its sand as far as the bar ‘El Chiringuito’, but from that point on, along past ‘El Chiringay’, there are nudist sunbathers. It is mostly a gay atmosphere and many people come from all over Europe and the world. They have made of Es Cavallet a free and cosmopolitan meeting point. This is a delightful beach on account of its white sand and pristine waters

This group of small beaches has white sand on the shore and turquoise waters from where the islets Illa des Bosc, Sa Conillera, Ses Bledes and s’Espartar can be admired. There is also a wonderful view of the sunset. For these reasons they are quite busy and really worth seeing, and also because it is rated one of the 10 nicest beaches in the whole world.

Cala Salada still has its old fishing atmosphere. You will be surprised by the stone house that is built right by the water, although the assortment of dry dock huts adds charm to this site. This is a popular beach for the local people in Sant Antoni, who go there mostly at weekends. At one end of the beach there is a beach bar to have good fish. In front of it there is Cala Saladeta, an even smaller beach but very beautiful.

This is quite a big beach, covered with pebbles rounded off by the sea waves. The owners of the chiringuitos have installed footbridges to reach the water, as the stones hurt. But, the sea floor is sandy. Along this beach there are various bars with very different atmospheres: from familiar ones to the ‘coolest’. This has turned this beach in one of the trendiest places in the island, to sunbathe, have a meal or a drink. All in all, it is not too crowded, and yachts that anchor nearby usually visit it. You can also have a massage by the sea or buy bikinis, beach wraps and dresses from the small stalls.
