Designated a National Historic site, this property has history. For a fee, they offer a guided walking tour. The castle and park has been used to film several movies, including the X-Men series.

This 843 hectare park is known as Canada’s first nature sanctuary. Lots of trails and even some mountain biking. For the latter, you can connect from the trail right at the end of our street via Stewart Mountain. It is a bit of trek on foot if you are up for the adventure.
This seashore park contains a diverse landscape with woodlands, freshwater creek, salt marsh, sandy seashore and rocky headlands providing habitat for an equal diversity of plants and animals. Forest trails, sandy beach, nature centre and rich bird life make this an ideal destination for the whole family.

Victoria has some unpredictable weather so best to wear layers. It can be cool one moment with rain on the horizon, warm and sunny the next moment. I find it cooler along the ocean as there is a breeze. Comfortable footwear is essential as there are many wonderful trails with various terrain to explore.
