This is one of the world’s great museums. Housed in a series of vast galleries, designed by the architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, which surround a spectacular ‘umbrella’ fountain in the central courtyard, it gathers together the remnants of an entire civilization, or rather sequence of civilizations – from the remotest period of the Olmecs, dating back to the second millennium BC, up to the Aztec empire and its brutal terminus after the arrival of the Spanish in the early 16th century.
It is the most comprehensible and complete collection on Mexican Ancient History. Amazing museum.

Amazing Museums

Museo Jumex opened its doors to the public in November 2013 as an institution devoted to contemporary art, whose aim was not only to serve a broad and diverse public, but also to become a laboratory for experimentation and innovation in the arts. The building was designed by David Chipperfield Architects. It was conceived in response to its surroundings and local context, incorporating domestically sourced materials.
