Newtown is one of Sydney’s most colourful suburbs

You can easily walk there in under 10 minutes or jump on a bus. King St is the main street and it’s a lot of fun to wander down the street and window shop at the boutique stores, try out vintage clothes in the many op shops, and check out some of the cool record stores. There are a lot of awesome restaurants and bars (with heaps of vegetarian and vegan options) so definitely turn up hungry. Newtown is well known as a progressive and hip suburb, so enjoy the sense that anybody is welcome there and expect to see some characters!
