Sightseeing
This is a wonderful lake! It is a draw down lake, so the water levels will fluctuate, but great for boating, fishing, kayaking and hiking. It is a beautiful alpine lake with great access for boats. There is a fully functioning boat ramp and picnic tables nearby for an impromptu picnic.

This is the closest ski resort and it is TERRIFIC. It has some beautiful historic elements and if you enjoy this, make sure you park and take the tram over to the resort - beautiful scenery each inch of this ride. Skiing and boarding is superb and there is a full service hotel and restaurant at the base of the mountain and the french fries there are EXQUISITE.

Sugar Bowl Resort
629 Sugar Bowl RdThis is the closest ski resort and it is TERRIFIC. It has some beautiful historic elements and if you enjoy this, make sure you park and take the tram over to the resort - beautiful scenery each inch of this ride. Skiing and boarding is superb and there is a full service hotel and restaurant at the base of the mountain and the french fries there are EXQUISITE.
Boreal is about 15-20m away from the cabin and offers spectacular snow boarding. The runs are a bit shorter than Sugar Bowl, but the snow is great and you can ski right into the evening with night skiing. There is also a super fun agility center at the bottom called Woodward that is a must see for families with a little indoor energy to expend. There is also a ski museum at the bottom of the mountain that is fun to trek through.

Great destination shopping, dining, and just walking-around-fun. Check out this historic town (there really is one art gallery that still houses the town jail down below in the basement!). There is great food here and a farmers market on Thursdays (double check - it is seasonal).

Emigrant Gap is a very historical area. The pass is where the wagons were lowered to the valley floor below in part/or whole. It is more sparsely populated, but one of the really cool features is that it is very likely to be one of the routes that so many emigrants took to get to the west. The neighborhood where the cabin is located is quiet - a mix of vacation and year round residents. There is a wonderful restaurant at the end of the street called the "Rustic Table" where you can get hearty and great quality food.
