This historic farm offers scenic vistas, vast meadows, a traprock ridge, and 2,000 feet of frontage along the Pomperaug River. Its variety of habitats is ideal for hiking, nature study, fishing, birding and picnicking.

This historic farm offers scenic vistas, vast meadows, a traprock ridge, and 2,000 feet of frontage along the Pomperaug River. Its variety of habitats is ideal for hiking, nature study, fishing, birding and picnicking.
One thousand acres preserve with a flat trail on the river’s edge and steep climbs through old-growth hemlock forests to summit views. There’s a hike for everyone within the 18-mile trail system located in the heart of Washington, Connecticut.

One thousand acres preserve with a flat trail on the river’s edge and steep climbs through old-growth hemlock forests to summit views. There’s a hike for everyone within the 18-mile trail system located in the heart of Washington, Connecticut.
Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, Mine Hill was a 19th-century iron mine and furnace complex. These historic structures are located 0.2 miles from the kiosk near the parking lot. At the complex, interpretive signs detail the iron-making process, Mine Hill’s history, and its impact on the region. The Main Loop (blue blazes) is a moderately difficult, 3.5-mile trail.
