Wake up and get moving! Definitely my favorite for fresh baked croissants/coffee etc.

120 Smith StChavella’s is a local favorite- but there are many choices along this strip of Franklin Ave. Everything from Soul Food, to French cuisine. Lots of decently priced restaurants representing food from around the world!

Ok first of all, Vanderbilt Ave has a slew of amazing restaurants and a major outdoor scene with lights and a carnival like atmosphere, so you might just want to walk over and pick out a bar/restaurant. Put on an outfit you feel great in and enjoy the feast of faces from all over the world and all walks of life.
But Olmsted is a real foodie prize and I would definitely make a reservation if I wanted to be sure to get in. Bring you appetite!

Neighborhoods
There are so many places to see that I decided not to overwhelm with too many options, knowing that your time here is limited, and focus instead on the absolute “must not miss”. These are also very easy destinations that don’t involve a lot of complicated directions etc.
You can easily walk through Bed-Sty from here. Most impressive are the beautiful brownstones, many preserved perfectly with original details. If you are a fan of architecture, and have sturdy legs snd a good pair of walking shoes- you can cover a lot of territory, by simply walking out the door!

Ok so the art museum, botanical gardens, the library and the main entrance to prospect park and grand army plaza are all along this part of Eastern Parkway- about a 15-20 minute walk from your place. You can see a whole lots of what makes Brooklyn great in one short walk!

Ok I have no idea why people come from all over the world to take this picture, but they do. I used to live on this street corner, with a balcony overlooking the intersection, and on beautiful days the intersection would become crowded with throngs of people taking this exact photo. In my opinion- there are better views, but what the heck- might as well join in.
