Kings Beach Local Guide

Kings Beach is the epitome of that funky little beach town that seems to never change. Its main road (CA Highway 28) is lined with old-timey hotels, cool shops and a good choice of restaurants. Despite the obvious draw of the royalty-level beach, the name of the town was not based on that accolade. Local lore has it that the name Kings Beach originated from a card shark named Joe King who won the town in a poker match.

Food scene
Excellent local Mexican food and grocery. It has a delicious bakery section that makes your mouth waters when you walk-in. They also have a great selection of marinaded meat for grilling.

The most beautiful beach in Lake Tahoe, only 15 min drive from the Airbnb. Its $15 dollar to park all day. During Summer time the parking lot is full by 8-9am and then reopens in afternoon around 2-3 pm.
