Ocean Shores is a relaxing and fun beach town off the Washington coast that is both a popular tourist destination and a thriving retirement community. It's located within a quick jaunt from the Seattle/Tacoma area and is a quick drive to Westport and Seabrook, WA (both also very popular beach towns).
There is a little bit of everything here, which is why is so many people flock here all year round! In town, you'll find tons of cute shops and delicious restaurants to try. There are countless activities to do here, including horseback, bike, or moped riding, kite flying, body surfing, clamming, boating, kayaking, an arcade and go carts, karaoke, a movie theater, bowling alley, lots of breweries, over 7 different parks, and so much more! There are also festivals and entertainment all year round!
The wildlife in Ocean Shores is abundant. You will be sure to spot a deer every single day amongst other rarer animals! There are a huge variety of birds and a lot of wildlife watching spots. The best place to see it all is at Damon Point beach- a local favorite!

The Quinault Casino has some of the best food and entertainment in the town. You will find a lot of variety and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lots of local music and gambling, plus it's right on the beach!

If you’re a Thai food lover- look no further! This place is outstanding. We love their red curry chicken. Great service and delicious food made quickly. They are great for take out too!

The Port Hole Pub is our favorite local bar. Sometimes you gotta go where everybody knows your name- but if they don’t, they treat you like they know you! The food is really tasty. The staff are incredibly fun and friendly. Great selection of music. Karaoke and trivia nights. There is always something going on here and the people at the bar and friendly and fun. We love coming here again and again!

Best cup of coffee in town. Period. These gals know how to make an amazing hand crafted drink. It’s hands down our favorite place to stop coming in or out of town. I get the white on white with cinnamon steamed in! Try it. :)

Sightseeing
Hiking the beaches of Ocean Shores is boring, all Washingtonians admit this. The answer to a walk on the beach when visiting Ocean Shores is to do a hike on Damon Point to Protection Island. It is located in the southeastern corner of the Ocean Shores Peninsula. Damon Point is a huge sand spit going out into Grays Harbor. The currents and weather have made some dramatic changes, enough to wipe out a paved road that once ran the length of the peninsula. There was a State Park but they gave up on it when the access road washed out. So, the land was returned back to the Department of Natural Resources. Parking is simple, right off Marine View Drive. Within a minute, you are walking on a beach that is much more interesting than anything around. If you walk around the entire spit, you get about 4 miles of hiking. You can also find the old paved road in the center of Protection Island. Distant views are good of the Olympic Mountains, Grays Harbor, Westport and Mount Rainier. Damon Point is also popular for wildlife viewing and rock collecting. People report spotting bald eagles, snowy owls, snowy plovers, peregrine falcons, harbor seals, sea lions, starfish, caspian terns, and brown pelicans.

Go to Seabrook for the day or even just for lunch or dinner. Just a short 25 minute drive up from Ocean Shores. It’s a cute new town right on the coast that is so gorgeous! There are many delicious eateries, boutiques, places to stop and get drinks, take scenic photos and shops to shop at. We love how both upscale and fun it is for groups and also it’s a great place to stop for families!

This new neighborhood tucked away in Ocean Shores is a total gem! One of the nicest restaurants in town, tons of events, a nice little store with all your needs, a coffee bar, outdoor seating and yard games. Come here for a few hours and enjoy!

Beach attire
The weather can change at a moment’s notice here. It’s typically cloudy and rainy in the mornings and it burns off by about 3pm. Bring clothing suitable for rain and wind as the beaches get pretty windy and cold. Be prepared to peel a layer off if and when the sun comes out. We like to bring rubber boots or grubby tennis shoes for the beach or flip flops in the summer months. Always bring another later such as a sweatshirt or rain coat. Bring your sunblock too!
