Want to have a night in? Call Davanza's and order a pizza. By the time you walk down to the restaurant, it'll be ready and still nice and hot by the time you walk back to the house.

Every bit as good as the best Old Town Park City restaurants, but situated in the smaller nearby town of Midway. Try to get a spot by the fireplace.

Arguably Park City's hottest restaurant, with inventive cuisine on par with anything you'd find in Brooklyn or SF.

If you want a break from the bustle of Old Town, there's a gem of a Mexican restaurant hiding in an unassuming strip mall. The place next door makes a mean burger, too. They have bagels, but if you've ever spent any time in New York, you'll just be in for a disappointment.

Things to do

Just 20 minutes east of Park City, the Mirror Lake Highway rises above the town of Kamas into Utah's highest peaks and the only east-west-oriented range in the lower 48. If you're here in winter, there's amazing sledding and tubing. In fall, the colors are unbeatable — even giving New England a run for its money. In summer, the High Uintas Wilderness offers unparalleled access to stunning vistas and over 1,000 small alpine lakes.

The Daly Trail begins at the end of Daly Avenue, the road behind our house. You can also access it via a somewhat hidden trail off of King Road a few houses up from us. The hike follows a stream up to the ruins of Park City's old silver mines. Keep going up Empire Canyon into Deer Valley and the Montage Resort.

Park City is on the back of the Wasatch Range, while Brighton, Solitude, Alta, and Snowbird are on the front. In summer and fall, you can drive between Park City and Brighton/Solitude over the old Guardsman Pass. It's stunningly beautiful.

If you're a mountain biker, you can do no better than the Crest Trail, which takes you along the ridge that separates the Wasatch Front from the Wasatch Back. On your left, you'll see all the splendor of Big Cottonwood Canyon with Park City on your right. Keep going and you'll pop out at the Canyons resort, where you can catch a bus back or earn your dessert by looping back home via the Midmountain Trail.
