Go early, so the water is calm and the sun is shining (and you can find parking) - enter about the middle of the beach, where entry is easiest, and swim toward the steps. There is an incredible elkhorn coral forest, and a veritable garden of fan coral of all colors, swaying mesmerizingly with the gentle waves. The huge schools of blue tang will accompany you with their electrifying blue.

Steps Beach - Reserva Marina Tres Palmas
Go early, so the water is calm and the sun is shining (and you can find parking) - enter about the middle of the beach, where entry is easiest, and swim toward the steps. There is an incredible elkhorn coral forest, and a veritable garden of fan coral of all colors, swaying mesmerizingly with the gentle waves. Surfing by our only Nuclear Power Plant. A small bay and a fine sand beach. Domes Beach is a public beach and popular place for surfers. Great place to catch some rays, have a picnic or to watch sunset surfing. Beach is swimmable in the shallow area.

Especially quiet on a weekday, one feels like you have the place all to yourself. The roped off swimming area is safe for kids and fun for adults, the waves let you bob around and feel relaxed. Over to the right of the swimming area it gets rocky, but take a snorkel and go explore the beautiful reef hiding close by. Jaw dropping beautiful sights to see!

The market is open on Sunday morning and is a great place to find organic produce, local arts & crafts, local food and visit with locals growers and artisans. If you are in the area on Sunday morning...make time to visit the market.

Best Bakery around! They are known for baking the best "brazo gitano" (a.k.a. Spanish Cake Roll) in all of Puerto Rico. "Brazo Gitano" is a spongy-like cake, rolled and filled with whipped cream, jelly (try the Guava and pistachio) or icing. Sounds tempting, no? It's great... specially with a cup of coffee.
