Cabbage Key is a small island located off of Pine Island, accessible only by boat. Famous for its dollar bill bar, burgers and the cabbage creeper drink.
Legend says that leaving the dollar bill on the wall tradition was started by local fishermen. After docking at cabbage key they’d write their names on the bill and tape it to the wall in case they didn’t have enough money to buy food & drinks the next time they came by. Now people from all over the world come and hang bills. Every year cabbage key donates all of the fallen bills to local charities, typically around $20,000.
