An offshore island languishing in the Adriatic Sea sunshine, lush and uninhabited Sveti Nikola is Montenegro's largest island. With deer as the only permanent residents, it's a popular getaway for locals and tourists in the summer, who cross on regular boat ferries from Budva. A small 16th century church, Crkva Sveti Nikole sits in the island. Tip: It's known locally as Hawaii, but don't be fooled. There are no sandy beaches. But the waters are warm and rocky shores have a raw charm. A water taxi from Budva costs around €5 return per person for the 10 minute crossing. Food and drink is available on the island. Look out for deer roaming freely and fish lapping at the feet.

The youngest kid on the tourist scene is a stark contrast to the ancient fishing villages of the Bay of Kotor. Positioned on a sunny peninsula at the foot of Mount Vrmac, Tivat was once the region's center of salt manufacturing as well as a strategic naval base. Today, it hosts an international airport and is undergoing a jetset-lifestyle renaissance thanks to its new superyacht marina. Porto Montenegro, a massive redevelopment of the old naval base and shipyard, is a burgeoning tourism hub, drawing in huge foreign investment and the international nautical community. Tip: It's impossible to miss the regal Regent Porto Montenegro hotel, an elegant boutique building occupying a strategic corner of the marina. Coffee and cake refueling stops are a must here, before visiting the Naval Heritage Collection museum. The place itself keeps remnants of historical buildings from the time of Ivan Crnojević such as cellar of a building destroyed long ago which is associated with the work of the so called Print House of Obod (Obodska štamparija), where the first Cyrillic book “Oktoih prvoglasnik” was printed in 1494. Apart from that, the first pharmacy in Montenegro was opened there as well as the first arms workshop. In the early 20th century the factory “Marica” produced nacre – pearl made of fish scales. In the 19th and the 20th century Rijeka Crnojevića was the biggest Montenegrin port and a leading trade center. A particularly praised product of this area was smoked bleak because of its uniqueness and exquisite taste which was also highly demanded on the Italian market. At the entrance to Rijeka Crnojevića there is a stone bridge called “Danilov most”. It was raised by Prince Danilo in 1853 in memory of his father Stanko Petrović. Next to the bridge on the left he built a one-storey building known as “Mostina“ which is preserved until the present day. The oldest preserved building in Rijeka Crnojevića is the house of St Peter (Sveti Petar). Fabulous visit to this place is complemented by a rich gastronomic offer of authentic fish specialties, thematic walks and kayak rides.
Rijeka Crnojevića bridge
Watch from the rocky river bank as Montenegrin Niagara Falls cascades over an old artificial dam, originally built to help move a grain-mill. Besides the obligatory picture taking, you can also kick back and relax at a nearby traditional restaurant, your meal accompanied by views of the waterfall. At the height of the summer, you might be met with a less than impressive sight, as the water level can get low in dry weather.

Great place to sit and eat with a nice surrounding and views on hills and sea.(place where river meets sea) All kind of food(Seafood ,mediterranean, vegetarian friendly) The Stari Mlni is a former farm with water-driven flour mills and was only turned into a restaurant fairly recently. Stari Mlini’s chefs constantly strive to change the menu presented to their customers, while always using fresh and local ingredients. In particular, Stari Mlini offers fish-based meals, cooked with seafood freshly sourced from the near Adriatic: the restaurant is in fact located in Kotor, on Montenegro’s awe-inspiring coastline. The old mill, wood and stone décor, luscious greenery and small bridges crossing the lively streams create a peaceful atmosphere in which to enjoy your food.

The Catovica Mlini restaurant can be found in the small village of Morinj, halfway between the better-known cities of Herceg Novi and Kotor. Catovica Mlini means 'the Catovic's Mills', where the Catovic family has used their mills for over two hundred years to make flour. In the last 25 years, the owner Lazar and his family have worked lovingly to turned the business into one of Montenegro's top 10 restaurants. The ambient is perfect, the food is glorious, providing a varied and extensive Mediterranean menu and the setting is magical. The old mills are still there, including the water stream that made them turn. Today, the romantic mills make a beautiful setting to this konoba (tavern). This restaurant is popular for its seafood dishes, although there are other options available as well. The excellent menu offers seafood salads, prawns, homemade cheese and prosciutto are all worth tasting, as typical for the local region. A wide variety of wine is also on offer and includes homemade and particularly good international wines. During the summer it is very pleasant to sit in the outside dining area and soak up the sights and sounds that make this restaurant unique. Enjoy the surrounding greenery, as the breeze gives the stifling heat a necessary freshness. You can still sit outside in the winter if you would prefer, although the temperatures are significantly lower; the staff will kindly provide you with blankets to ensure you are cosy during your al fresco dining. Inside, the impressive traditional décor is well worth a visit. Although this restaurant requires access by car or boat, it is well worth the effort. It is so romantic and makes for a lovely pre-dinner walk before if you arrive just before it gets dark.
