A really neat general store on the mountain. You can pick up groceries here or rent ski's and snowboards. Fred's also has a great little deli to grab lunch.

This is about 30-40 minutes away, but well worth the trip to Blowing Rock. The blackened Trout is delicious and this is just a cool spot in general. Blowing Rock is a great little town to do some shopping or walk around and have a drink. Highly recommend making reservations.

Local Coffee shop on the mountain about a mile from our house. Good strong coffee and breakfast pastries. This is right outside the ski resort if you need to grab a cup before hitting the slopes for the day.

State park that is well worth the trip. You can drive all the way to the top of the mountain and walk across the sky bridge. There are plenty of trails for seasoned and beginner hikers with some beautiful overlooks. There is also a gift shop and a bear pen.

This is less than a half mile from our place. This is a very serine little lake/pond with a walking trail, or you could do some fishing. If you drive down past this lake there are (2) hiking trails. Both are really nice trails. The trail to left is pretty steep, but it has waterfalls the whole was down. It is a beautiful, but challenging trail.

This is less than a half mile from our place. This is a very serine little lake/pond with a walking trail, or you could do some fishing. If you drive down past this lake there are (2) hiking trails. Both are really nice trails. The trail to left is pretty steep, but it has waterfalls the whole was down. It is a beautiful, but challenging trail.
