It´s great italian food. Everyone working there is italian, as are the daily menus. It´s authentic, it´s very yummy and it´s right across the street.

It’s kind of a weird yet exciting mix. During the day Ströck-Feierabend is a bakery with great coffee and all the pastry you could wish for- and during the evening it’s a sort-of restaurant with burgers, beef-tartar (and other cold dishes), soups and wine. Everything is of excellent quality (including everyone working there!) and I enjoyed breakfast/brunching there many times.

The Rochusmarkt is one of the most frequently visited markets in Vienna. It used to be a flower market only but now there are numerous little stalls which sell specialities of all kinds- be it cheese, vegetables and fruit, meat, fish or wine. And also flowers. ;-) There´s also a small italian restaurant, wine bars, an asian take-away etc. Go discover it yourself, it´s worth every second!

This is hands down the best indian restaurant in Vienna. Lovely staff, amazing atmosphere- very modern and sophisticated. Not the typical kitsch you will find in many asian/indian restaurants. It´s a must if you enjoy indian cuisine and a really pleasant and refreshing experience.

Café Menta is a cozy little place to go for breakfast, lunch, drinks, dinner, a coffee. It´s the kind of place I really like since it´s nothing fancy, their fixed menu is small, but everything is made with care and love and justs tastes good- be it their homemade lemonades or their weekly menus.

The Gasthaus Wild is a typical "Wiener Gasthaus" (Viennese Inn), even though it´s a little on the fancier side- not too fancy, though :-) They have a large outdoor beer garden surrounded by pottet plants, providing a sheltered and cozy atmosphere. The food ranges from Austrian Classics to Mediterranean with special attention to regional and seasonal resources, vegetarian options and everything being home-made.

Just a couple minutes of walking away there is the Krazy Kitchen, a little thai place. It´s run by a young and dynamic team and the food just tastes really good. It´s mostly for take-away even though they have a couple of tables in front of the counter. Plain and simple good thai food for take-away.

This vietnamese restaurant is about a kilometer away. It has a great variety of summer rolls and other vietnamese specialities and a small terrace to sit outside on warm days and evenings.

Kimchi To Go is a cozy place to go to when you want great tasting korean/japanese food for a good price. The food is super fresh and healthy. It’s my favourite food place at the moment. I go there almost every time I‘m in Vienna :-) So go and check it out! 🍜🍱🥢

Just 3 minutes away is the Arenberg park- a beautiful small park surrounded by some of the most impressive "Wiener Altbau" buildings in Vienna. One can also marvel at two of the six flak towers located in Vienna. They are a monumental and terrifying sight that is definitely worth the time. If one feels like having a coffee or snack there is the "Meierei Arenbergpark" which serves breakfast and other little dishes, such as panini, omelettes... I just love going there to sit down beneath the trees and read a book. For dog owners: There is a specified area for dogs where they can run freely and do their business.

It´s kind of an insider´s tip. The University of Vienna Botanical Garden. It´s a beautiful grounds that is a research-, teaching- and public education facility belonging to the University of Vienna. It´s free entry and absolutely wonderful to stroll around in. You will find many locals just wandering around or sitting on benches and talking or relaxing.

About 1.5 km away, located at the end of the Landstraßer Main Street is the Stadtpark- a large park, beautifully landscaped with impressive buildings, monuments and statues reminiscent of Vienna´s famous history, a small lake with ducks and geese and a varied flora. It´s a park where (especially young) locals love to go for a walk or a run, or just lay down on the grass with their families and/or friends.
