Food Scene
A short 7 to 10 minute walk from your suite, you will find a varied menu, a great beer selection, and good service. Sometime they have live music. If you do choose to walk in the evening (after dark), you'll need your phone or hand held flashlight as our neighbourhood has no street lights.

At the beautiful and challenging Castlegar Golf Course, The Ninteenth is probably the best food in town. The facility is low key but the food is high end. Check their website for hours and menu.

Wow, this place is awesome. Try the Boneless braised beef rib. Mouth watering. A bit of a drive from here, but we'll worth it.

Golf
This course if as beautiful as it is challenging. You can walk it with a good cart and if you're in really good shape or you can rent a cart (I recommendthe cart). One of the great courses in BC.

Fishing
We had guests fishing up at the dam. Their goal was to capture some Walleye. They had a great day.

Hiking
Syringa has lovely hiking trails for all levels. The beach is rock and the water is hmm glacial? but it's a great place to visit with kids.

Sightseeing
You can access this little Island via a suspension bridge or land bridge. You can walk from Millenium Park or drive to the parking lot. The walk around the island takes about 15 minutes, but if you sight see, you can take as long as you want. Great river views and lovely building (sometimes open and sometimes not).

1850 Terrace RdDoukhobor leader memorial sight. Well kept. A part of Castlegar's history.
See what our house used to look like, 75 years ago or so (sort of). The houses at the site represent how the Doukhobors lived communally. You will learn a lot about how the Doukhobors settled and lived in this area.

This man-made beach area is lovely most of the year. It features three, river-fed pool (so can be cool), lovely kept grass/sand access, and some shade trees (we bring a small beach tent). You can walk on the nice walking trails all the way to Zukerberg Island and back. It's a lovely outing any time of day.

This park has been around since I was a kid. It has changed and the city added a wonderful water park. Fun for the whole family.

About 45 minutes from Castlegar, this ski hill is the home for world class skiers (Nancy Greene Raine, Felix Belczyk, and I'm sure other). Castlegar is about 1/2 way between Rossland and Nelson, so you can visit both hills during your stay with us.
