Parks & Nature

This is great for the kids and is not a hard walking trail. There are lots of hikes and the ecology centre is a great learning opportunity for the family.

Great outdoor adventure for everyone. We have a season pass as our boys love the tree climb and the walking path in the trees. Christmas time they have spectacular light show at night and is a definite must see!

This is an absolute must see! There is so much to do in the park from renting bikes and riding around the seawall (note: it is one direction riding...so don't make the mistake of going the wrong way:), or just walking around the seawall (it's 11km), the rose garden is stunning, Vancouver Aquarium is fun for the kids, there are multiple beaches and second pool is awesome. Third beach is a bit of a topless beach and there are a lot of young hipsters and millennial milling about!

This is definitely a sightseeing beach for the young and old. It is known for it's beefcake and barbie doll bikinis, however it has recently become somewhat family oriented with the relatively new playground. Nice beach side restaurant with great sunset views. Touristy, but alright.

Ok, tiny place, but worth the visit if you are a foodie. Definitely check this out if you want some fine cuisine on the North Shore. It is a husband and wife team that run this little restaurant and they are absolutely the best hosts! www.theportlychef.com Do make reservations if you want to guarantee a seat at a table. They have a very small bar area for drop ins (4 seats I believe).

http://tourdefeast.com Great little french restaurant hidden away on Mountain Hwy...even locals don't know about this place! Spectacular brunches on weekends, but the dinners are melt in your mouth delicious. This is a 20 seat restaurant, so be sure to make a reservation if going there for dinner. Highly recommended!

Fantastic tiny little bistro close to our home - really fabulous brunches, but go early as they fill up fast and they have limited seating. Opens at 7 am - closes at 2pm It is not good for large groups as there are small tables and it would likely be a tight fit. But if you can get there early enough, the food is seriously the best I've had for brunch in this city!

Great market is on the inside, great views on the out, it's where you catch the SeaBus off the North Shore that takes you downtown. There is fresh produce market, meat and fish market inside, along with stores upstairs. There is a ball pit for the kids under 7, as well as a kid haircut place. There is a Friday Night Market right beside Lonsdale Quay with live bands, beer garden and a tonne of food trucks! It is great atmosphere for families, couples, singles - Everyone can have a great time at the Night Market:)

Gastown definitely has it's touristy shopping, however it is also well known for it's very fashion forward and trendy fashion shops as well. It is on the pricey end, however definitely great place for those that like to be on the forward end of the fashion styles. My personal favourites are The Block, Kit&Ace, and One of a few.

Stawamus Chief towers over 700 m (2,297 ft) above the waters of nearby Howe Sound. It is often claimed to be the "second largest granite monolith in the world" Beautiful drive about 45 minutes from our home...definitely worth the trip if you have a car. There is also the sea to sky gondola which will get you atop the Chief and some of the most picturesque views of Howe Sound.
